A lone shark being chased by 2 equal in size things. Unless it felt threatened they were fine. This isn't blood thirsty sharks of Hollywood

@Maniac 5000 If evolution works, the GWS should recognise the humans as a dangerous prey. Something along the lines of sharks with a predisposition to approach humans have been removed from the genepool by groups of human hunters in previous times. Even though lone humans in the water would be an easy mark the shark is still at more risk than from a seal and predators are risk adverse. This is the reason I'm not a fan of shark wranglers feeding great whites, much better if they are wary of us.

Wouldn’t have suggested following it cause it kinda looked agitated ( the fact that it was swimming quickly to get away from you) not saying “aggressive”, but you’re chasing a decent sized great white in kayaks...good luck being lunch next time..

Some of the worst Great White attacks have been in Byron Bay, e.g. Julian Rocks Honeymoon couple, and the guy got his legs torn off in 5 foot of water at main beach.

So many comments say that this was stupid or dangerous, there's obviously risk involved but the same can be said about driving, I don't think you have to assume every shark is out for blood.

This guy is following a Great White on a kayak AND put his arm underwater, which is bad considering Great Whites can sense the TINIEST VIBRATIONS in water. That was literally idiotic and they are extremely lucky. If it had been more agitated, it would've gone into defense mode at that point.
@javierjj338

It's funny because those kayaks don't offer any protection in case the shark gets aggressive. Usually nothing happens, but when it does you don't want to be in the water :)

Esperance has been named the "sharkiest" place in Australia recently apparently. Before that it was Ballina and Byron. A lot of experts are saying here in WA, we've had the most attacks and Australia, in general, hit the world record for shark attacks in 2020. In Perth, we've had quite a few attacks in the Swan River (Freo's a favourite place for bulls to have their pups) with some being brutal and/or fatal. The brutal attack victims were mostly saved because witnesses intervened. For a shark to kill by mauling or eating a person, there's usually a reason like age or illness causing desperation. Juvies are more prone to attack due to inexperience and hormonal rise. Kinda like teenage boys being more horny 😏. I've swam in waters where Tigers and Bulls are sighted a shit ton of times including close to bull breeding grounds but you're more likely to die in a car accident on the way home than being munched. I want to go swimming with sharks and do a cage dive but nobody else is keen for some reason 🤔. I no doubt already swam with them many times though. I just didn't know it😆.

@dannyyako4280 Yeah..lol. That's understandable. I'm in awe of the beauties and have a bit of an obsession with them but I still have an underlying fear of their potential. If you don't have some level of fear of the majestic creatures, you might as well bend over, grab your ankles and kiss your arse goodbye every time you step foot in the ocean coz they're always there. I have the SharkSmart app that shows where any are sighted. They're everywhere in WA...which, imo, is awesome. It shows they're thriving👌🏻.

Why people keep going in the ocean where there's animals bigger and faster than their mode of transportation. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

Because some people think those bigger animals are beautiful and fascinating, amazing creatures that people hate simply because they have teeth and live somewhere we cannot. And I’m not sure these people were even seeking out the shark.

I've been swimming in waters where sharks and crocs have been sighted and I'm still kickin' with both legs🤷🏻‍♀️. You're more likely to die in a car wreck than being attacked. Fear mongering brought this "maneater" shit on. There's been attacks, yeah, but considering how many sightings there are to how many attacks, it's fuck all in statistics. We've got sharks everywhere all up and down the WA coast (with heaps clustered around Perth) yet bugger all attacks.
