I went to France with Eelco to explore an abandoned WWII bunker of the Maginot line, the 2nd largest fortification of the world. After being abandoned, many guns were removed or relocated to a museum, but in this bunker you can still find some big guns!

I've been in that bunker in the 90's. Amazing how little it has changed till now. Wasn't burnt back then but the floors were pushed up already

@@maxroffel2304 just look at all the signs in the video. listen and watch closely and you will fnd out. I just did. 3 hints... 0:22 , 3:38 and 2:52 was all I needed.

I grew up in Germany during the 50’s and 60’s. Locally we had a bunker that was destroyed by filling it with water then putting an explosive inside. There was no giant gun but there were remnants of a radio, lots of bullets and a crushed narrow gauge rail car where two soldiers would sit facing one another. I heard that there was an underground hospital nearby but we never found any evidence of it. I used to take the bullets home and remove the slug and pour out the gunpowder and set it on fire. At school we used to have ammunition awareness week where they used to bring in defused bombs and ammunition to discourage us from touching them if we found anything.

Those are indeed spent casings hoppers. The fabric or rubber were used to prevent damage to the casings, since they were refilled and reused.

Seats no sitting down on the job lots off moving needed they are indeed for empty that can be reused anywhere they can save on making using more resources all so don't won't emptys rolling around the floor

I dont think the whole corridor was on fire, the smoke is only high up on the walls and roof, they made piles of copper and burned it in the tunnels to get the plastic of, and the smoke has no way to go fast, thats why the roof and some of the walls is black all the way.

People forget to look up! There is an overhead track system that runs the length of the bunker, allowing the supplies and ammunition to easily be brought into the bunker and moved efficiently.

Thank you (from France)!! Some bunkers of the Maginot line can be visited with comments in English. One includes a functional railway to hell and more. ;) It helps to preserve and restore the other bunkers. Maginot line was indeed effective simply because Germans never passed it. With less than 200000soldiers in it, it's been a great advantage for France, which population was lower than Germany's... However, we were defeated - but not because of the Maginot line.

Jow guys im also a regular bunker fanatic. In case your interested to check out the rich history and number of bunker works i can show you all the awesome stuff. Its a mix of many type remains from museum accesable places to bunker villages as we call the high concentration places with bunkers in the dunes. And all or most of the bunkers that are no longer open or visible in the landscape i can show point out and even get it back in a state to open it up to have acces to them. No matter if we will ever meet or shiy i love what you guys love and am a fanboy of your channel and the content u produce. Stay safe and keep up the good work . BAM !

WowI thought this place would of been some tourist attraction but find it is totally abandoned due to the amount of damage from ground swelling. Great video guys and there is no way I would of got through that small entrance. Amazed there is still those large guns and mortars still inside I bet they would still be operable if they were removed and had some work done to them.
