Really like this design, I will have to reach out to this brand to collaborate! I haven't tried a Vmax yet but keep hearing good reviews! Great video, keep it up!

I think the new segment turned out well! And I like the suggestion "café chat" for the name. BTW, I've been riding the scooter steadily since the review, and I STILL haven't charged it!! So unique to have a massive battery in a commuter scooter. I'm thinking I could ride this thing up to the ferry and back.

Thanks for putting this review together! It helped me decide which scooter to replace my current one with. (My GoTrax’s battery isn’t doing so hot anymore after over 1000 miles. 😅) Just got my VMAX VX4 GT in the mail a few hours ago and am so impressed by the quality!

With such stringent restrictions in Europe basically limiting scooters to 500 watts in most places it’s great to see vmax have essentially just done a work around with a large battery and adjusted controller to get a high peak power so your not missing out on half decent acceleration and hill climb ability. Agree the folding mechanism needs improving on its next iteration. I also think a rocker indicator switch like I believe the vmax 2 has and Segway Max G2 is better and more intuitive. I do prefer the Apollo approach of dedicated regen throttle and drums from a maintenance perspective so be great if the next iteration went down that route, but overall what a great scooter! Great real world review Tim!

Awesome ideas @e-scooterguy, love that you mention Apollo too...both companies seem to be producing excellent scooters :) Can't wait to see the Version 2 of this in the coming years :) ...also thanks for sharing the info on the European laws...this makes sense to me now :)

I truly wish I had purchased this scooter INSTEAD of the Lectric XP Lite 2.0 JW Black Edition. I know they're two different types of eride, but this would get so much more usage for me. This review, as ALWAYS, was EXCELLENT. As a 250lb rider I wholeheartedly approve!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great video Tim! I live in the San Juan islands. I'm looking for a scooter that will do the Sydney to Victoria round trip run. I ride the ferry to Sydney and work on my sailboat at Sydney boatyards. This and the Emove cruiser S, are the only two with this range and are still light enough to get on and off my boat. 210lb rider. Have you also tried the cruiser? Enjoy the new format and miss my B.C. Rides since our ferry shut down.
@TimsElectric3 ай бұрын
Interesting that you ask this @stevenray8022, as I've done a range test on the Emove Cruiser from Victoria to Sidney and it didn't quite get me back ...it conked out at Whole Foods...but you can find the video on my channel :) The Vmax with a 23AH has a smaller battery than the Emove Cruiser at 30AH...similar in other areas. Build quality will go to the Vmax....you might be able to make it work as you're about 50lbs lighter than I am..but honestly...I think maybe just take the bus...the ride down is fine but it's a long long way to go back and forth on a scooter. ...IMHO :)
@stevenray80223 ай бұрын
@@TimsElectric Thanks Tim! Truthfully 99% of my trips would be for multiple days. I think I just got that number stuck in my head as a good safety reserve and didn't consider the bus. I've done the trip hundreds of times by bicycle but never on a scooter. Those trestles were bumpy enough on a road bike 😂
@TimsElectric3 ай бұрын
the trestles will absolutely shake your teeth loose....fingers crossed that they fix that for us soon :)

Just bought the VMAX VX4 ST as that is the largest battery currently in stock! Perfect upgrade from my Apollo Go (with almost the same type of suspension) and my Segway Ninebot F2 Pro for the winter as the two have already stranded me on my bare minimum 14-mile multi-modal commute a couple of times! I no longer have to fear range anxiety or be forced to slow down to Eco mode almost the entire trip in order to come home with barely any battery remaining, especially when I'm going up a very long bridge uphill often against the jet stream headwind! The wider hybrid tires should also help tremendously with the slushy and rough snowy roads I'll be riding on as the skinnier 9x2 inch tires or even the 10x2.3 inch street tires would be dangerous if I go at higher speeds. Not as wide or long as the Apollo City scooter, enabling it to easily fit into 3 steps of escalators if no elevators are available, assuring great portability! As for the latching mechanism, you could quickly solve the problem by wedging a pen underneath the gap in the deck latch while the scooter is folded so it will not drop on you when any tension is released.
@TimsElectric26 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience, this is super helpful! Love the pro tip on the pen wedging solution...the range should be so helpful to you especially in the colder months as the battery is about ...I know for example that a car battery can lose up to 60% of its strength at 0° F. Safe travels @chaxologist2024

Hi Tim, I’m in the market for a new scooter. I thought I wanted another Segway , but finding it more and more difficult to find in Canada? I wonder if Segway is getting out of the scooter biz?? The scooter you showed today looks interesting. Can I purchase in Canada ? Tina
@TimsElectric3 ай бұрын
I think this scooter is available in Canada! If not they should be soon because it is a really good one! @tinasarosiak7905 Depending on range you can adjust the size of the battery (and thus the price) How far do you think you need to travel and approx how much weight...I can then let you know my recommendations...also where do you live (cold hot...really cold :) ) Cheers to you in our lovely country :)
