Thanks for sharing Evan 👍 the Cypress Creek bloodlines are among some of the most coveted in the trade.. love his dark colors and nice contrast. Can’t wait to see some of his litters! 🎰

Is Cypress Creek a current business or an old one no longer operating?

@@ancientrepro I'll try to dig up some background info for you Bob. I think most of the founding stock came from Tom Crutchfield.

@@EvanKayExotics hey is the male in this video gonna get much larger then that cause im hearing males(or boas in general) dont get as big as the internet leads you to believe
@EvanKayExotics Жыл бұрын
He will continue to grow, but much more slowly than in the first 5-6 years of life. He's definitely a bit larger than he was in this video. I believe that all BCC have the potential to get large, including the males. I believe he is genetically large. He's close to, if not, 8 feet and the largest animal I own. One other thing to realize is I'm 6'5" with XXL hands, so I make most snakes look smaller than they are. That said, their size is deceptive and hard to really appreciate. I go back and forth between thinking my animals are big and small small depending on the day. Their size is just so hard to conceptualize for some reason. But, for sure, they are full sized boas and will be large in the 5-10 year term. Impressively large in the 10-20+ year term.

I'm a hobbyist a very small scale. I don't have anything this season. If you follow my channel, I announce all breedings and availability here. Thanks.

Beautiful, his tail is Parsons-esque. I don't keep BCCs currently, just a Colombian and some Pure Sonorans I'm raising up to breed. I like the smaller boas but some of the medium size BCC localities, like Venezuelan to the bit bigger Brazilians are my favs. The Amarali are my coveted "one day when I have 1-2k to invest" lol. But BCCs are def included once I have some room for some 10-12 square foot cages/tubs. Thanks for sharing!
@EvanKayExotics2 жыл бұрын
Smart comment. Yes, similar to but different than Parson's and Roswell. There are several laddertail genes. I've not proven the heritability on this laddertail, but this male has produced enough offspring for me to feel confident that it is genetic in some form. This snake uses every inch of it's 6x2.5 cage.

Hi Evan, im into Boas aswell and kept a Boa c. c. Nowadays i only have a ´22 Boa c. o. Feeding rabbits is mostly outdated. Many experts at least in germany refere to big rats every 14-21 days as more optimal than 1 rabbit every month, due to their natural diet and there proneness to getting obese in adult stages. Otherwise top video :D. (Of course you can also feed small rabbits, im just telling you my knowledge, be free to research yourself about this topic and or reply with some of your knowledge about this topic). I like exchanging knowledge so please dont take it as an offense about your boa keeping, your pet also doesnt seem obese :D

Thanks for watching all the way in Germany! Rats are more common in America as well, and this boa does get rats. I feed a variety that includes rats/rabbits/quail/chickens. All frozen thawed. I think they can all be good food and alot depends on your animal and life phases. Thanks for sharing how you keep yours!

@@EvanKayExotics First, no problem mate, boa owners have no borders ^^. A variety in diet is definitely a good thing :D In germany its also a bit tricky to get a frozen rabbit and stuff, but guinnea pigs are somehow easy to get :D I also had to feed my boa c.c. live mice for like around a year. After that he ate frozen. Btw, did you ever have problems with your boa "throwing up"? I never had it with my 2 boas, but seems like this is more or less common, if yeah, what was your solution?

Bcc can have fragile stomachs. Keep in mind, i have a group of BCC and it makes it statistically more likely that I'll have an animal regurge. I think that many people with only one or two BCC can go their entire time without a regurge. It has always been following a meal that was borderline too big or right after I bumped them up to a larger feed size. . I consider any snake that has a regurge in it's history to be "more fragile" and just always feed them smaller.
