Great video.❤👍 I've seen lots of big island vids but yours is really good - showed me places and things others haven't. Also, showed POV of Waipieo Valley and Beach which is nice to see bc it's closed to tourists now as of 2024 - too much traffic, damage, trash, etc. We're planning our first trip and this was really helpful. Very informative, scenic / pretty, friendly and enjoyable video. 👍🤗

Excellent guide. I like the “local” feel of the places recommended and showing the Farmers Market. And finally a Big Island tour that mentions Tex Drive-in on the Hilo side! Out of all the reviews I’ve watched, this is the best. Great job. Tex Drive-in is the bomb. Excellent food. ❤❤❤

WE recently spent a week on the Big Island and a 2nd week on Kauia. All the Islands have their own uniqueness to them. I enjoy them all, but I have a special fondness for the island of Hawaii. Hi awesome video,quick question to ask please , the kayak to swim w dolphins , do I need to noon a tour or just renting a kayak on my own and head to the bay and swim ? How did u manage to leave the kayak on the water if you are swimming w dolphins under the water ? I'm just curious, please any feedback I would be very appreciated to hear back from you and thanks again
@PackYourBags3 жыл бұрын
Book a tour through there website for date and time when you show up you sign waivers they give you the kayak at the bay and you paddle to where you can possibly see dolphins there is a rope that is attached to the kayak that you hold on to as you dive or swim around. You can also just leave the kayak for short period of time if there is no current in the water . Hope that answers your question ..

Kona is a district approximately 60 miles long. Many visitors and newcomers confuse Kailua with Kona. Kona is bordered by the Kohala district to the north and the Ka'u district in the south. Also at the very northern end of Kona is Waikoloa and at the very southern end is Manuka (Manuka State Park, Manuka Forest). The Da Poke Shack is in Kailua. The City of Refuge or Pu'uhonua O Honaunau is in Honaunau (in Kona, not south of Kona). Waipio is pronounced why-pee-o. There is another Kailua on the island of O'ahu, hence most people refer to the Kailua in Kona as Kailua-Kona. With the current bombardment of tourists here, it's important to be respectful to the people, the culture, the language and the wildlife. Take your time, don't speed or tailgate, don't cut in line, let others go first. Aloha is not a word, it does not mean "hello" or "goodbye", it is a spiritual expression.

My two best friends and I got ripped off by a cab driver in Honolulu in the 90s. WE ASKED HIM TO Take us to the mall close to the hotel (we had walked the day before and it was a long walk), he tool plus on a 20 minute ride to a run down strip mall by the airport,and said we owed him 30 bucks which was a lot of money for working class young people in 1995. The dude was hating us because we were guilty of being white visitors to Hawall. This dude looked like he was Japanese🙄. Anyway,he threatened to have his superior call the cops if we didn't pay up. Whose side do you think the cops would have been on? So we had to have this same piece of excrement drive us back to the one close to the hotel for another 20 bucks. All these years later and it still makes me leery of locals if I ever go back, and knowing g how so many of them hate me just for being white churns my stomach. It's uncalled for,and unjustified. I loved the island, and felt a strong connection, but the possibility that more locals are like my cab driver makes me not want to commit to living their which is the desired effect I guess.
