There will be a separate, more vertical, trolly for the smaller boxes later.

I'm a Makitalover and will be purchasing this Maktrak. I am already invested heavily in Packout, and a bit of FLEX and do love them, but I now feel the need for this.

Woooo hooooo great to hear from another macpac fan!! With a bit of luck we will get into double figures and have a makpak appreciation society!! What do you think of the new maktrak system?? 🤟🤟

I use Makita. I live in the USA. Best tools on the market.
@EliotTrueloveАй бұрын
Makita are and always have been a solid brand. Newerr guys feel they are outdated, "their fathers tools", etc but thats precisely what makes them fantastic. They are reliable, comfortable, and capable. Im a Makita guy with 35+ cordless tools and 18 batteries near Philadelphia btw.

For the domestic work I do the MakPac system is great & I love it. For site work you need something tougher no doubt. Glad to see Makita addressing this & hope it's as good in the flesh as it looks here 👍

Jon, I love my makpacs. But, I will probably get a few of these new maktraks. I live in Texas and everyone seems to have a pickup truck including myself. And, the makpacs have worked very good for me. All my tools are Makita and I don't see changing. Jon, I love your channel!

Oh hi Danny cheers for reaching out! Iv been to Texas along time ago!! Mainly Dallas and Houston!! Really liked it!! Don’t mess with Texas!!!, stoked you like makpac!! It’s ok as long as you look after it I think but yes I’m very interested in testing out these maktrak boxes!!! Cheers pal 🤟👊🏻

At the same show they released numerous items that are only compatible with Makpac. Seems they have not thought this through. Powerstation, Makpac battery charging cases, Makpac battery backpack, vacuums, floor sweeper etc... no sign of adaptors to connect old and new. In Aus we use enclosed trailers, these won't fit properly, and the cases take up more space the Makpac thinwalled cases. Just sand the clips for smoother operation, and fit foam instead of the plastic inserts

I have driven vans for 30 years. I switched to a truck now. Very happy with my decision. They both have their pros and cons. And it really depends on the trade.

I like some of the features. Being able to open from either side is very cool, and makes sense for pickup users. I think they need to come out with some modular bespoke inserts to keep the common tools from jiggling against each other. Like Festool does. I very much dislike throwing all of my tools into one bin so they get all jacked up. That would much improve my opinion of these. I don't like how you have to bend over to get to the handle to lift the stack every time you want to move it, my back could stand to do with less bending over and lifting heavy stuff, not more. I'll reserve my opinion until I see them in real life. I could see the base unit being more useful for much larger tools, but the depth of it kind of precludes that. Dunno.

GoTools from Germany few years ago did a drop test of all brands boxes and strangely enough, boxes from Festool and Makita hold up very good even from about 7 meters. Latches fell out, but they are removable. If this Maktrak will have some high price for the equivilent of Makpac 1, then unless you will be taking them out of a van and taking them onsite further in on a rugged terrain, then I dont see them getting that much sale.
@combrogiАй бұрын
Do they come with inserts for the tools? I prefer one tool with insert per box then you van put all the accessories for said tool all together.
@reinoutreybrouckАй бұрын
I share your opinion. In comparison to the makita systainers the latch mechanism and sturdiness are interesting features. But the horizontal layout looks really awkward… What about the modularity of those boxes? I hope Makita in Europe would upgrade to the newest generation of systainers. If I had to reinvest in small parts organisers, it would definitely be the Allit KC series (very modular). For other type of boxes i’m looking at euroboxes… Thankyou for the video!

Got myself Keter(aka Ridgid in USA) ROC Pro gear 2.0 system with wheels and stuff, because everyone was talking how great it is and how shit Makpacs are. Used it for a week... And went straight back to my old makpacks. Makpack number 3 fits my charger, 3 batteries, angle grinder wit 10 extra cutting discs, impact and a regular drill with extra bits and small drill sets for wood and metal. All of this in a small and compact box that fits so nicely in my car without wasting space. Returned my Keter boxes and fuck those. I work as an electrician and Makpacs are so good when carrying in tight spaces compared to this huge crap that's clearly aimed at americans. Yeah, I know Makpacs are not great, the latches are terrible(they can be a bit better if you take a bit of plastic of with a file), they are flimsy. But damn, they are so compact and simple, without any extra BS I just love them

Personally, I just use plastic totes and tool bags. All these big tool boxes are a waste of space and money. The smaller ones are great for screws and such, but that's about it.
