@@JosephCartertheMinkMan "Your fears are mostly unfounded. The natural world has just as many dangers. Nature has jagged rocks, unexpected holes, thorn bushes." I'm merely pointing out the dangers of the working environment, not attacking you. No offence Joe, but you're comparing nature to man made products which animals don't know nor understand that they can be harmful to them. They don't understand rusty nails and other sharp objects can cause serious injuries or death, because animals just don't have the same risk assessment brains as humans do. Of course, all living creatures try to avoid obstacles/objects so as to not get injured, but in the heat of a pursuit of a prey(like a rat), they're too focused and may not see the dangers and that's when they get hurt. What they do understand is not to take risks and fight in a confrontation with their own species or other creatures as that could spell their death if they're injured, due to not being able to forage or hunt for food. Animals only fight or defend themselves when necessary, if their own life is at risk or as a last resort if there's no escape.

I’m glad you educated yourself on real issues like these. On top of everything, rats and mice are an insane safety hazard. I love animals and would even keep a rat as a house pet, but I feel relieved to see farms get cleared up of this pest… plus, like you mentioned, it’s physically and mentally amazing for the dogs. And yet *another* benefit of this is that the rats go out in a natural way, killed by natural predators rather than starving in glue traps or slowly having poison affect their neurons. Now *that’s* cruel.

Absolute W comment and character development. Seriously though, good on you for seeing what it really is; a necessity. The rats die but they die the way nature intended via natural predators. No poison or excessive cruelty needed. Just a quick snap and it's over.

"the way nature intended" isn't always quick and painless. Many animals kill/eat their prey in the most painful way imaginable. Chimps tear their victims in half and start eating while they are still alive and there's PLENTY more examples of this in nature. Don't think "mother nature" is all sunshine and rainbows.

Every good farm needs a few rotting deer carcasses scattered about at random. They go nicely with the collapsed buildings and dead rusting machinery.

These dogs can tell the difference between the smell of mink and rat and that prevents them from accidentally biting the mink in dark & tight areas.

I hope this farmer is able to get the help he needs to get his farm cleaned up more. It’s clear he needs a major cleanup to keep the rats even in check. You’re a good man to help

UK here. Great video but look at the state of that farm.. It's disgusting. I I live in Rural East Sussex and our farmers take pride in their farms. I've ever seen one in that condition. I understand that farmers are hard working busy people but that farm is unfit and a health hazard. It wouldn't get the certification needed to produce food for human or even animal consumption here in the UK.

Glad to see that famous Grand Champion Spike blood put to good use. Bindi’s pedigree is one of a great line of American Pit Bull Terriers that comes from Mr Tom Garnef.

A lot of people are giving this farmer a lot of hate, and I get that the place is a mess. However, most farms have been passed down threw the families. We don't know his situation. He might have inherited the mess from a relative and all of his time is tied up in day to day farming. He might not have any family interested in continuing and helping with upkeep, he could be on his own. Yes, it should be cleaned but let's have a bit of understanding.

Hello JOE, really enjoyed watching this video. But like the other member of your group, said all of that metal and all of the nail sticking out of word. I would’ve told the farmer used to pay 40% more for dangerous conditions. But I am glad you were successful at getting, a very nice bucket full of huge rats off this man’s property.

I honestly thought this farm was abandoned. I've never seen one so derelict. Based on the comments its not! How could it get so bad? Mink man paid the farmer to not clean it up for some awesome rat killin content lol

My APBT was the best farm dog i ever had, after her thats the only breed i stick too, there's pretty much nothing they cant handle especially if you have two or three, even got rid of the wild boars tearing up my corn, saved my corn and kept us in pork, of course they always got there share and had nice hocks to chew and got some ham when we cooked it. Schnauzers make good ratters too !
