In general I believe in the maxim "buy low sell high", but our staff is already loaded with dumpster dives. Manaea is the only starter I trust. Senga and Peterson have had one good season apiece. Holmes is going to get killed as a starter. Montas, Blackburn, Megill and Canning all suck. We need an ace or at least a strong #2, someone guaranteed to anchor the rotation. King isn't the right fit.

I prefer King over Cease, which is more than likely less of a package that needs to be traded. either SP from the padres would solidify the starting rotation and taken pressure of the back end of the rotation which I believe would actually help them preform better. I'm all for it.

The Mets need another front line starter... They only have 1!!! And their Ace is not as good as most Aces for those in the playoff race... So, getting another frontline starter is important!!! And both King and Cease can be considered frontline starters... But, it all comes down to what the Padres are asking for 🤷‍♂

We get Alonso back, we can easily give up baty, Mauricio, along with one of the depth starters (most likely Blackburn) for Michael king. As long as they give him an extension

Mauricio yeah no, Baty and McNeil can go though and I would ask SD if they would throw in Arraez as well if a salary dump is needed to offset their return but help them momentarily unload two bigger contracts on their books. With what King and Arraez make that would be about 22 mil coming off their books while they add Jeff's 15 mil and Baty making nothing so saving them about 6 mil and they get two major league ball players in return. If they want a SP give them one in the 20 to 30 prospect rating farm then
