Great video Cash! I love how Rachel added her own cozy improvements and upgrades to enhance her personal style of self. The shower head is insane! And the coffee table made me gasp😮. And the very fact that her landlord is not only supportive of her upgrades, but that he's not a financial vampire seeking more $ to keep her on as a SATISFIED AND HAPPY TENANT speaks volumes. I'm glad that Rachel is comfortable and happy in her SOLITUDE. I'm going to check out her channel and become her subbie. Blessed New Year everyone❣

I'm a native New Yorker, but every time I watch these, I remember why I left NY. I love my city, but FOH! Also, we never put stuff under the bed when i was growing up, however I grew up in a pre-war building that hadn't been chopped up to make more apartments, so we had space, closets, a pantry, and lots of cabinets in the kitchen. These apartments are just way too small for the price.

I can last in Manhattan on a visit for about two nights, but it overwhelms me very quickly and I high tail it back to the suburbs of Washingon DC where I live among the geese, ducks and deer! $1,900 for a livable NYC apartment that is well located and that doesn’t have to be shared with roommates AND on a 2 year plus 1 year extension is a godsend. People living in NYC tend to move often - chased out by rent increases. Moving expenses, first and last payments are a budget strain that she will not have for a couple of years. My guess is she has the kind of mom and pop landlord who will try to keep their tenant for many years. Mom and pops cherish reliable tenants.

I would probably get one of those dish drainers that is a frame you sit over the sink, as there is such limited counter space for prepping anything. I would also put a metal cover over the stove to make it usable for prepping as well. (This is me as a person who loves to cook; obviously not a priority for many people.) I do appreciate the little cart on wheels that can be moved into the kitchen space when needed. I would probably be storing my crockpot(s) and juicer on a shelf just to the right of the the fridge, and move the couch down a bit. And yes, the fridge doors would be less practical for use when actually cooking in the kitchen. Given the limited storage for the ingredients one would cook with, I"m guessing that the New Yorkers who DO cook go shopping right before they will cook and don't store ingredients in the fridge for long.

So many ppl with tiny spaces don’t know how to utilize all the space above. All those kitchen cabinets can have added cabinets above it for extra storage. The height is there. Same thing with bed. She could turn the bed towards the kitchen, and make a higher base for more storage. It would only take about 6” away from the bottom of the window, but would create less clutter of items she doesn’t need sitting around. The nightstand is useless anyway. She could have a hanging lamp or sconce instead nearby. A little wall shelf there would be enough for her phone or drink.

She has done a great job with adding storage space to the wasted area in her apartment. Love how she decorated it too. It looks very comfortable and cozy. One suggestion for her is to purchase a Swifter 6 foot extender duster. I use mine to dust my ceiling fans that I can’t reach. Just dusting them during your weekly cleaning keeps them dust free. That way she can actually use her ceiling fan during the hot summer months. Plus the duster collapse down to only less than two feet long and can be stored anywhere. The disposal dust pads can actually be shaken off in trash can to get several uses out of them instead of just one time use.
