I got a theory perhaps the trail chambers were a training place for the ancient builders and the loot are there because you might have gone in there with little loot to begin with

based on how the ominous potions look, how trial chambers function when it comes to mob spawning and how potions can just spawn on top of you, it really feels like Minecraft is leaning a little into how Terraria works, where things are kind of just more openly absurd I kind of like it, it means there's more stuff to do than just placing blocks

so as some of you may know on hard difficulty spiders can rarely spawn with potion effects i think it would be cool if ominous trials made it so spiders spawned would have a much higher chance to have an effect

I would hope there is a boss bar for the ominous trials. Something you can identify to tell that there's still that one mob lying around. Yeah I hope they maintain this mechanic especially for people coming back to Minecraft. You should be able to do ominous trial during the cooldown. Gives people a chance to see what the chambers is like and then if they wanna, increase the difficulty immediately after. Speed runs are certainly gonna be different

I really hope 1.22 is just them revamping all existing structures to be as interesting as the trial chamber They don't even have to be as big or have unique features But let's be honest, the stronghold should be more important, and mineshafts should look just the tiniest bit cooler

My raid farm is not broken. It still works fine with this new Ominous update. The trial vault is broken on trial chambers. The creative vault one is working but not on naturally generated on trial chamber. Ominous trial vault is working well and you can wait your target item to pop-up before you open it.

I think this is how to increase the timer of the Ominous Trials 1: Drink the level 1 bottle 2: Drink the level 2, 3, 3, 5 in that order Maybe that will increase the timer.

So the illagers will now target the block that you were on and that's the center of the village? Ok that makes so much more sense! Now I don't have to wonder where they are coming from or find it hard to track them as i have a reference point. Way easier!

i am worried about the loot. they’ve said it’s not final but we’ve been stuck with glowberries and baked potatoes since the very first snapshot. as it is right now the trial spawner ominous trial spawner and the vault all have pretty skippable drops and only the ominous vault really has meaningful loot that the player might actually care about

This is probably about the lore. I think the young ancient builders were locked in the trials chambers, and they were forced to fight the ennemies, to train themselves. And they were forced to fight the ennemies to get food.

@@DvirMC yeah no that one’s crazy. obviously it’s a super rare chance but 18 diamonds off rip while just trying to collect shards is insane. that being said decorated pot loot pools are not the main focus of the structure. glowberries and steaks are not midgame loot or even early game loot and most likely the player will completely ignore what the spawner spits at them if it’s not a key

U can see what item you are gonna get from a vault (both ominous and normal) by looking at the item spinning inside and you can get the item that you want in specific if you can time it right. But u have to be fast reaction time matters

The most wonderful thing to me is that you can get between 1-2 diamond blocks from one of the pots in the trial chambers, with a 0.02% chance hope they won't change it until full release!🙏

The ominous trial being able to activate on a spawner on cool down was mentioned in the change log when it was released, so it was intentional and not just something they overlooked, so it should stay for the final release

So let's say you walked into trial chambers without a bottle if you fight using regular spawners you might get it anyway. Oh that's interesting. So kingbdogs says the levels don't have anything to do with difficulty but i would have thought it at the very least it would make the mobs armor more difficult. So like Bad omen they would have leather armor that's trimmed up to Bad Omen V diamond armor that's trimmed. At the very least it should behave like the raid so increases chances of them spawning with enchanted equipment

So what’s the lore/in-universe reasoning behind how the ominous potion works exactly? Like, is it giving you bad luck and that’s why raids happen in villages and why trials are harder? And if so, then why would a banner carrier have a potion of it on his person? What use would he have for it exactly?

I was just about to ask about that for so long. If during the cooldown you can still have the ominous challenge? Well that answers my question. So I can run through the chambers the first time just to get the hang of it and then if I have a bottle increase difficulty immediately after. Thats what i plan to do at first the first few times. Eventually when I get good i will only do ominous trials

Is anyone having lag issues with the 1.20.5 update? I normally have 8G of ram allocated and has never had an issue but throughout updating my world from the snapshots, it eats up my memory and still has been an issue even after allocating 14G of ram. I pretty much have to close everything out and restart it every 15-20 mins cuz it's too scary to fly with an elytra bcuz of the stutters. Btw, I had no issues in 24w14a but everything after that is where this begins. Idk why it's happening, just thought maybe someone that's more knowledgeable could give some input.
