Big patio-New driver was killing us!

Join the crew on the first hot day of the season pouring a big concrete patio. We definitely were not ready for the heat! Thankfully the concrete pour was scheduled for early in the morning, otherwise we would have been in danger of losing it. A new mixer truck driver slowed us way down but it still came out good. Enjoy

Good morning! New drivers can make your job tough but everyone needs to start somewhere. I learned from my very first boss that yelling at new drivers is counterproductive. They just get nervous and get worse! Have a great Sunday, tomorrow we are hitting it hard again on a very custom fire pit patio, stay tuned!

I know this is random. But is it possible to make some of the merchandise items in the shop a little cheaper. $35 for a t shirt is alot of money to some people. If not still will support and watch the channel. Love you guys!

@@bradleyfreeland3492 I wish I could but I don’t actually do the merchandise. It’s a company that does it for me. Personally I’m not happy with it either as They keep the majority of the money. On the hats I barely make anything. If I get a chance later this year I would like to make a change.

The drivers attention before leaving the job, I have not seen that out of a new employee in any field recently. Keep it up, don't be afraid to stop and talk to a boss, leader, owner, etc. They will remember it, and will get their mentorship anytime you work with them in the future.

I drove dump truck for a concrete plant just hauling in rock and sand all summer when I was about 20 years old. They were short on mixer drivers one day and stuck me in one with 5 mins of training. I showed up to residential job guys were doing garage slab prep and I told them right away I have ZERO experience. The boss there was real cool and said he would help me. His crew were huge jerks just screaming at me and and started throwing handfuls of mud at the truck. The boss man had me hop out of truck and he took controls and he stacked the whole load into a pyramid in center of prep and started laughing and tossed shovels in the middle and told his guys to get shoveling!!! He shook my hand and said have a great day kid sorry about the guys. I’ll never forget that 🤣👍

Nice work ! Not sure if you have thought of it before, but when you pour a circle pad, cut your joints to have one line pointing north and south and the other east and west .. or do them all like that and see if anyone catches on. The home owner could use that to teach his kids or grand kids about compass directions. Fun project.

Man... that's LITERALLY how I used to work with concrete in South FL... Entire shirt & underwear drenched in sweat.. heart rate atleast at 150.. arms pumped up to the max... sweat beaming off the sunglasses.. all because of the dry rocky concrete and the inaccurate rear end concrete truck.. Not to mention the FL heat.. Raking and pulling the concrete from 5-9 feet across... The way these guys felt on this video would be us every single day... That's crazy how different the work flow is in different states...

You all don’t know how very lucky you are to have a job, to be able to go to work every day, receive that pay check…but more importantly, see the customers that are grateful that you’ve helped. Please, do not take it for granted. It may all be taken away in just an instant. Be grateful. No job is too small.

That temperature change is brutal. We do have days like that here in AZ, where it's 80F one day and 105F the next, but the big challenge is the daily swing. Since there's very little humidity it's not uncommon to have a night time low in the 60s and a daytime high in the 100s. Credit to the new driver for checking in after the pour, he'll do great going forward! Many folks I've seen will run from a mediocre performance, it seems like this driver wants to learn!! God Bless Ryan, hope you're having a wonderful weekend --- YOU BIG STUD! LOL
