Did you notice the "pike" jumping out the water was actually a barbel taking flight being attacked by a pike? Pretty cool. I caught soo many fish this session too many to even put in the video! Hope you enjoy!

I’m loving your videos man. I grew up fishing for pike and perch in small rivers in south-east England in the 70s and 80s. I was off on my bike after school and all weekend and it was happy times. I left England 32 years ago and have missed Pike fishing ever since. No pike here! Trout fishing has never had the same appeal for me. Tragically when I visited the UK 3 years ago I went back to some of those rivers with my sons and found them horribly silted up and destroyed by housing developments. Heart breaking… Enjoy your fishing and keep up the great work with the informative and hands-on videos. Cheers.

Wonderful video .. thank you for the tips, entertainment and the releases. A thought .. treble hooks (even small ones) and deep hook sets on active fish can do significant damage. I've been crimping the barbs and even snipping off one of the hooks on each treble. I've certainly lost a few due to the configuration but hook removals are infinitely easier. Thanks again, cheers.

Very nice! Just the more, because Your stream is very similar to our one here in northern Germany. Pebbles, gravel and sand. Thing is, that our stream has loads of sand cause of the farming, mostly of maize for bio gas (govermental financed) and so possible gravel beds for spawning of barbel, trout etc. are rarely found, unfortunately. I´m a bit envy for Your gin clear, gravely stream... Excuse my faulty english, please!

I've been watching your channel for a while now. You certainly have some beautiful waters around your neck of the woods, plenty of good healthy fish. I'm down in Cornwall where coarse fishing is very different, all our rivers are salmon and trout waters, you have to have a salmon license and all the banks are owned so it's difficult to find places to fish without paying through the nose for the privilege. Keep up the good work.
@tonycamplin8607 Жыл бұрын

Down in Australia, red fin/ English perch are a pest, so I send them back with a kink in neck. This feeds the native turtles, yabbies and water rats. But good size ones I take home for a feed, I consider them freshwater whiting, the saltwater whiting is an exceptional tasting species.

Lovely Perch, as kids we used to fish for them on Mill lodges around Lancashire, ( I’m 67 and all our rivers were sadly polluted. ) we also used to catch what we called a “ Stone Perch” it was a Perch but it was sort of silvery rainbow colours obviously some some sort of hybrid, I’ve googled it but can’t find any reference to it. Then the whole country got hit by Perch disease and catching one was a rare event for years, I must have been in my teens then.

Autumn is always a good time for chasing the better Perch and those bigger specimens didn't disappoint, but they were all such pristine and well marked fish...no matter what size. Fantastic colours. Get in another sesh like this mate, before the first chill of Winter really hits. I reckon there might be a 3 plus pounder out there with your name on it.☺ Tight lines.🎣👍

@@leemyatt2951 thats just for pike mate, Spratt are pretty good and fairly cheap (Morriston have good spratt) You may want to tie it up with some bait floss to reinforce the hook hold as spratt are a pretty soft fish. For perch on the murky canals I use some nice little rapala lures with good vibration to them when retrieved, or dropshot a good size worm (real or artificial) i prefer real though
