@@ant2312 what's lol about the Calibra Turbo 4x4? They had a Cosworth redtop C20LET engine stock, were 201bhp n did 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds from factory. I had one over 300hp with a locked transfer box, stuck to the road like on rails.

Brings back memories. My cousin had an F Reg Mercury Grey RST. With the 1.9 power engineering cvh block, mahle pistons, Cossie Hybrid Turbo, huge front mount intercooler, loud as heck dump valve, full SS Magnex, quaife diff and uprated diesel box with cut gears, all that and standard brakes 😬 once you got it rolling it was devastatingly fast. I drove it many times and remember embarrassing a guy in a brand new R32 Golf. This is when a good RST was worth £2000-£3000. The R32 blokes face was priceless, was a mixture of anger and confusion 🤣

That's the exact spec of mine, but black with Mongoose exhaust. Had it 25 years, 13,000 miles, less than 100 on the CTS stage 2 box with Quaife dif.

I'm a Series 1 kinda guy, but this is mint. The problem with a series 1 is that all you can really do is wheels and engine mods. I love that this is my fav Cossie colour (closely followed by Mallard Green). Top job mate. Seriously classy build.

There was a black S2 round my way late 90’s - running 190ish, stock motor but plenty of boost - got passed around a few fellas and it seemed to do an engine every 6-8 months… Sounded mint, angry burble from the back and high pitch turbine like noise from the front. Will never forget it 👍

Mk4 had the stubby indicators. Mk3 were regular stalks. To be honest I much preferred the dash of the 3 as the Mk4 steering wheel looked like a bog standard Escort LX with some leather on the thumb grips. The series 1 wheel was a much more sporty thing and that 4 spoke RS aftermarket is one I’d go for every time! Lovely car. I miss mine.

Had 2 of these both black, a 89 and a 90 spec 1 G90 XRG The F plate F982 SAE was a right weapon I Made it from Newcastle to Portsmouth in 3 hours the turbo was glowing orange it’s probably wrapped round something by now as it was too fast Good times Then ended up with a 92 plate Sapph Cossie J12 JAM Ford made some good motors back in the day 😂

My Outlander just developed it's own turbo flutter, sounds like a lovely 80's Quattro.... problem is - I've changed nothing. I think I'll just install a dump valve so it sounds tuned and enjoy the excess boost being left behind. Go with the the flow people!

Very nice motor Would just like to point out that the gearbox you say in the video im 99% sure is not a diesel gearbox its looks like an Ib5, i have mtx75 gear boxes here you say youre after one though, i also dont understand why the brakes werent upgraded straight away. Even if he went down mk3 mondeo calipers, mk1 focus 300mm discs

Thought my old car had been reincarnated for a moment there Adam. I had one in the same colour back in the day. Bought it with 8k on it. A woman drove into the back of me on the A1231 and then I skidded on black ice in Castletown and hit a high kerb and bent the chassis.
