Years ago hunting SE Iowa during 2nd shotgun season my cousin dropped a 14 pt buck and when we went to lift him into the truck bed, both antlers popped off. He ended up getting a Euro mount down and had the taxidermist screw both antlers back on from the inside.

Now you'll never forget that sound, the sound of a late season buck antler popping off. I've had a double pop once and I swear I heard a deer laughing (coughing) in the distance. Late muzzleloader season is when I killed my biggest buck and I pulled an antler off mine too. The taxidermist said it was a pain, but he got it back on. Congratulations Greg.

Instead of dragging out by the antlers, place the front legs on top of the head or along side and use a drag rope around the head/front legs. Makes for an easier drag as the front legs are out of the way an less pressure on the antlers. It works for me!!
