technically it's one less damage if no freeze. Plus if there was a freeze then the firelance face wouldn't have mattered either as he was at almost full health. However, if toast made the play that other comments suggested with pinging the face instead of playing around explosive rune, then yes. this play was worst as it would have dealt 1 less damage and would not allow him to do the play that the comments below suggest

Naw, I see what he was talking about, Toast had 10 mana, hadn't used Hero power yet and attacked the 2HP hero with his 2ATK Raven, he could have pinged BEFORE to pop him at 1, then later on, he could have popped the 2nd Ice block, and won without Yogg. Slight miss-play, but it all worked out, Praise Yogg.

Seems like everyone in this thread missed the point. Explosive Runes would have killed him through his block because ice block doesn't work on your own turn. He had to activate that secret to keep it from happening. Even if it didn't end up that way, it was a preventative measure.

Except, pinging him in the face doesn't require you to play a minion which is when explosive runes hurts you. after he played the courier to test for explosive runes the only other minion he played was Yogg. Which he didn't need to do to win. There was no reason to test for explosive runes when he could win by dropping his opponent to 1 hp with what was already on board and then ping them next turn.

when you had the board couldn't you have just won by bringing him down to one health, cracking his secret, and then hero powering his face each subsequent turn? you had ice block in your hand and already knew it wan't counterspell or mana bind. Though with this play I suppose you did get meme value with yogg, so alls well it ends well I suppose.
