Big Star is an American power pop band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1971 by Alex Chilton (1950 - 2010), Chris Bell (1951 - 1978), Jody Stephens and Andy Hummel (1951 - 2010). The group broke up in 1974. By the 1980s, they were recognized as one of rock music's classic groups.

Nobody is perfect, and all putting someone on a pedestal will do is to harm your chances of anything happening between you two one day. People have flaws, and part of what love is, is that you love those flaws too, as they make them who they are. But you've got to think about yourself. Be your own person, have your now interests and hobbies, find something you're truly passionate about and could speak about for hours at a time, all of these things make you a much more attractive person to be with. ⠀ Nobody wants to be with someone who treats them like a king or queen, like they're royalty and you're their servant. It might seem like the kind of thing someone wants, at least to young teenagers, but really a relationship is about being equals, being partners together, you two against the world. ⠀ So think of it that way. Just work on yourself, stop trying to get with one specific person who you think you love, stop desperately trying to be in a relationship with anyone, and focus on what makes you happy, and then ironically that makes it far more likely that they'll be into you and you two will start a relationship. Because nobody likes desperation, it's an unattractive quality. Stop looking for a relationship, start improving yourself, everything about you, like invest more time into a hobby of yours such as learning an instrument, become smarter by reading a lot more, take care of your body with diet and exercise, etc. Then suddenly, people will start being attracted to YOU rather than the other way around. And yeah, then maybe this person you love, will be attracted to you suddenly. Either way though, you can't be in love with someone if you've never even been in a relationship with them. You're in love with an idea of them, but not the actual real them. You only truly learn what someone is really like by being together with them and spending a lot of time with them. Just being "in love" with someone from afar isn't real love. It can turn into real love, if you do get together with them, but until you do, you can't possibly actually be in love with them, by definition. So just focus on improving yourself, stop looking to specifically get in a relationship whether that's with a specific person or with anyone in general, and then that'll greatly increase chances of you getting into a relationship with someone, anyway. You have to learn how to be happy on your own, to be able to look after yourself and not actually need anyone else. That quality in someone is the most attractive thing you could do for yourself. And if you're unhappy alone, then being together with someone in a relationship won't make you happy, it just doesn't work that way. If you're unhappy on your own, you'll be unhappy even when you're together with someone you love. And you'll wonder why, and get angry and frustrated about it, which just poisons the relationship. No it's only when you learn how to make yourself happy, on your own, that you'll be able to be happy in a relationship. When I was a young man I wish somebody would have told me all of this. It would have saved me a lot of time and effort. It's just a way of thinking that every teenager goes through, and then eventually the vast majority of people grow out of that way of thinking, though some people never do and those people end up being unhappy their whole lives and can't work out why nobody will ever date them. It's just about learning that soul mates don't really exist. And that there's nobody in the world who will make you happy, if you're not happy by yourself on your own.
