All I can say is thank you for sharing this with us. After my grandpa died their farm was sold out of the family and a few years later we got permission from the new owners to stop by and take a look around. When we did the changes to the main house and property actually made my heart hurt. I've not been able to go passed there again since as I prefer to have my memories of how it was in the forefront of my mind. I can't imagine how hard this would have been if it were the house I grew up in.

My Dad died when I was 17, had been ill all his life with Crohns, had 5 sons and made it to 57. He was a jeweller and was extremely well known as " the man who can " when nobody else could. He has always been and always will be my greatest hero, a trully inspiring man. And like you I often wish he was here to see the things I do, to help steer me at times, and to meet his 3 Grandchildren. When I want to be close to him, I sit at my bench and begin a new piece of jewellery, something exiting, and I can feel him looking over my shoulder. I am sure your father would be proud of his children. Thanks for the share, it reminded me of my Dad, and that is always a good thing.

I needed this Dr. Cowman. 😁 so much going on in the states, South Carolina is no exception. I'm just sad sir, and this surely will help. Justice for George. Peaceful, not evil.

You were feeling nostalgic. I get that way when I go to my grandparents farm. Grandparents and parents are gone. Childhood and adult memories. Parents lived on the farm for years. I'll be going there in a couple of weeks. I love the place, but makes me sad. Best regards from Texas, USA.

Graeme, I know this was recorded years ago, but I’m seeing it for the first time. I have even more respect for you today than I did yesterday. I’m going through a really hard time in life, and I often come to your channel to find some comforting positivity and lightness. Having watched your visit to your old home and learned more about you, I am grateful that you shared. I am a writer and I just wrote a page in my journal about this. How it moved me and encouraged me to remember that loss and strife happen. And we can still go on to lead fulfilling and rewarding, happy lives. Thank you. And much love to all of you from Canton, Michigan, USA ❤ Annie G

Thank you for sharing a part of your life outside of your career(which is equally entertaining). I absolutely love the location where you are! I can remember a time when I was little and hearing nothing but nature! Just having that and a beautiful day as in this video. I yearn for days like that during those younger days. I really appreciate your channel and what you do!

Your Dad knows Graeme and I'm sure he's very proud of the man you've become today. My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer 6 weeks ago and given 2-6 weeks to live...he was mowing his lawn today...family strong!

Typical dad, the lawn has to always look perfect! :) in all seriousness my heart goes out to you and your family during this time. I guess the positive that comes out of having a diagnosis(im in no way saying cancer is positive btw) is that you have time to tell him how much you love him and be able to say goodbye and everything else you want to say. My sister suddenly passed when i was 14 and I wish i had gotten the chance to say I love you one last time. Get as many hugs in while you can

Kim Asp, so sorry for your family. You’re dad obviously has spirit. My closest friend for 56 years was given 6 months and just passed away recently 3 years after diagnosis. She had spirit too.

I can relate to having lost a parent at a young age, my mom passes when I was 8, she was 42, I have outlived her by 18 years. It twisted my head a little when I got close to the age she passed. Keep the good memories alive and pass them on to your kids. Thanks for sharing and look forward to the next one.

I understand how you feel. I lost my mom when I was 3 and she was 24. My 24th birthday is in about 2 weeks and it’s such a strange feeling, and I don’t know how I should feel about it.

You live in such a beautiful, peaceful looking place. Its so great to see someone so knowledgeable & caring about their profession. That was so nice of you to share your childhood home with us. I loved hearing the stories. Its a shame that it was left to get in such disrepair. Your memories of your childhood is what made it a home though & you'll always have that. I'm most certain that your Dad is very proud of who you've become & the Dad that you are. Another great video!🙂💜

This video has reminded me of my father's childhood home, a house that was also claimed by nature when my grandparents abandoned it in order to live closer to their children once they retired. My father has always been saddened that his childhood home was abandoned until it became ruins and dust. His roots have always been very important to him and that his childhood home was not maintained, he feels it as a lack of respect for his roots. In the end only remain memories and a strange mixture of joy, sadness, longing and nostalgia...
