Thank you for sharing. Most of the hardest working people think the same way. I m 38 and I v worked since I was 13. I came from nothing in a place that 99 percent of the people my age either died of drugs, went to jail, or a homeless. I was one of the lucky once that went to jail for about 2 months and it changed my life. Not immediately but I got the ball moving in the right direction. I moved out of the place where I grew up and moved a thousand miles away and started a new life. I am a over the road truck driver and I own my own business now. I have one kid and been with his mom for 13 years. I thought back in the day that I would have nothing but I changed my surroundings and worked hard with a little bit of help and now I'm teaching my son that you have to work hard to get where you want to be. I went from having nothing to owning a pickup truck, motorcycle, semi truck, and I am paying on a 2019 car for my wife. My pickup truck is older so is my semi and my bike but I love what I have and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Hearing your words and your wisdom, you sound like my grandfather. More people should take your advice and this world would be a lot better place. You have a wonderful night.

Maybe it’s because we’re of a different generation, but the ‘ make do or do without’ attitude and mindset seems to be missing for a lot of people today.. everything has become disposable- cars, houses, careers, relationships... seeing others work (and work HARD) for what they have, and teaching their kids to do the same gives me a bit of hope. Thanks for sharing a bit of yourselves with us. Your channel is quickly becoming a don’t miss for me...

I still do with what I got. 37yrs married 5yrs ago I bought my wife a new car instead of buying a new truck to pull the racecar with an did that on my birthday lol but was worth it to me to see her face when I did. I left home at 13 an never looked back from a very abusive stepfather and my biological father had passed on. But I think I have done pretty good for my family and have owned my own shop now for 20yrs. It's only the wife an 1 other guy an me an even we the shop we do with what with have an just use the 40yrs of me working on cars an trucks. My Vickie is a great woman an the love in our 4 girls an 9 grandson follow suit with yours. Thanks for sharing ole man lol

I spooked a whole herd of em as they were walking up a steep dirt road hill on their way back from whatever it is they do at the creek every morning, one of em almost fell off his horse. One minute they were walking along having a good time, the next minute they look over and there's a bearded idiot on a mountain bike climbing the hill at about the same speed they were.

My dad always said.. "do you need it, or do you want it" I'd answer then he'd say "needs you'll always find the money for, wants.. you'll have to work that much harder for" This taught me that later in my life...My wants are not my own anymore.. but they are for my children.. I want them to have the better life.. I want them to get the best education gets the best jobs.. I want this for them, so all the sacrifices I made with our families needs don't go just for nothing.. My dad taught me a lot and I didn't realize it until I became a parent.. thanks dad

I always remember something Ross Perot said once, while he was young man in the Navy and over in Monte Carlo he walked the piers and docks where all the rich folk kept their big yachts, he said all that these people have and yet not a one smiling. He always said if he became wealthy enough to have something like that he would smile and enjoy what he had and be grateful. I believe the secret to true happiness is to be grateful and content with what you have not what you don't. Those rich folks more than likely do not have kids that would buy their dad a hood for his JD lawn tractor. They would just buy a whole new tractor, and not even consider the memories and sacrifice that went into the one you already owned. Struggle brings strength and grounds a person in reality. To truly appreciate simple tings or acts is worth more than all the gold in Ft. Knox. That means there is love involved in there some where. Take Care and God Bless

I hope you truly understand what a blessing all the channels you all have are to us viewer's. I shared a while ago about my wife battling cancer and how much you all helped me cope with it, on the 9th she went to Heaven so I have not been watching much. I finally attempted to do something normal for my self and what a treat to have so many videos to watch from all the channels. I was heart broke to hear about Billy's motor, excited for Tommy, and thankful for even Molly's Stang. (not a Ford fan) To be able to see such a wonderful family and extended family enjoy life and each other makes my heart start to heal a little. Thank you and God Bless

Yeah, I'm 72yrs and pretty much came up the same way you did, we weren't rich by any means, but there were many things I learned. There's nothing that runs like a Deere, I remember when my Dad got his, of course it was after I had to use a push mower and my younger brother complained about having to do the lawn on the Deere. I'd bet Tommy got some motivation after having to watch instead of being out there making passes. Best of luck to y'all and hope to see you racing soon.😎👍☮️

Bill, I hope you don’t think I am some kind of troll for always commenting on your channel. But you see I grew up in Pittsburgh and we never had much neither growing up, there was 6 of us and my brother is special needs. He is 52 going on 5 if you know what I mean because that is all the further his brain developed. But anyhow, we grew up with the same principals as you did, my dad worked in a junk yard pulling in cars and delivering parts. Dad would buy really nice cars from the junkyard that usually needed some bodywork and painting and after I moved to Md he would bring them to me, and I was just to clean them up to make them better. Dad would always take one of my vehicles back to Pittsburgh with him. So you could imagine the look on his face when I took his cars home to him with all of the bodywork done and I would do a complete over all paint job on it. That is what I seen when I seen your tractor. Enjoy the new and original look on it. You have a pair of awesome boys, Dave.

Bill, I just picked up a John Deere mower just like yours, this one is a parts tractor. I was going to offer up the hood, But I see the boys got you a early Father's Day gift. It looks great. If you guys really like the Amish Shops, you need to come up to Geauga County and hit Middlefield Swiss Chelsea and all the real world Amish shops up here. Mullets boot shop is fantastic. Then we have a place we call the Amish Sanford and Son's. He has tons of stuff that they have picked up at auctions and sales. You never know what you'll find there. We bought some over stock 16" x 24" Windows for our storage shed. Then we looked around and they had 3 semi loads of 3"x24"x6' Pink foam insulation that was reclaimed from a building that was taken down. We paid 1/4 of the price to buy it new from anyone of the big box stores. Used tools, you name it. Give me holler if you want a guided tour.
