A great video. It's all about safety. That rear fender was never going to be hassle free. Or safe. You made a wise choice. Again, a great video. Keep pushing.

Installed a Phase 3 11mm belt in my 83 FXWG Shovelhead. Enclosed primary with no problems riding it in Japan or the Philippines. Went back to Chain Primary after starter ring wore down. You guys sure make nice bobbers. Enjoy your video's.

I met you at a swap meet in San Francisco. Been watching you before you hit a 100 subscribers. You’re game came up a long ways. It’ll be bad ass to see you build your own gas tanks and etc

Could cut a notch out of the rib where it contacts the frame at those two points, would give ya the space to fit it.

That's what chopping's about - making shit you already got, fit.

Removing the rib will give loads of space at the lower part of the mudguard as the guy says.

Agreed .. that fender looks so much nicer imo. The lil duck bill is 👌👌
@jasonsumpter1197

No need to cut a notch. Torch and hammer, flatten a good 4" maybe 5" section of the rib and good to go.

All other things aside, the radius of the fender is wrong for that tire size. The t.c. Brosnan fender had a more accurate radius for that tire.

Hi mate, I like the rear fender with the back bone. Why don't you take it to a sheet metal shaping shop and get them to fit it correctly to the tyre shape and width using an English wheel and hammer and dolly and they will be able to put a flat spot where it touches the frame. It shouldn't cost much and it would look awesome once it was fitted correctly. P.S. The black and chrome shovel looks perfect in black and chrome. Keep up the great videos, cheers from Australia

I like the tank shape. You can use a rivet nut (drill +simple tool) instead of welding bushings. It works great.

Rivnuts loosen up over time. Especially on something like a gas tank

Bro I’m with the guys on tweaking the ribbed fender, looks sooo good on the bike. Really like the way you are both meticulous and get shit done at the same time. Cheers from South Africa 🤙

With the rear fender, i had the same problem with mounting that same exact fender on my ironhead sportster build. Instead of buying another fender, I carefully cut off like a half inch of the side skirting of that fender from each side, that seemed to do the trick for me, on my channel, you can see how i cut it, and how nicely it fits above the tire, it bike chain spacing!!

The fin on the rear fender would look dope. No way to chop both and weld together so you get the clearance on the bottom end and still get the ridge up top?

New to the chopper game. Do you use bungs instead of threading the frame for more threads?

Although belt primaries do look great, I still prefer a good wet sump slipper clutch myself. Actually now that I think about it, even aesthetically I still prefer not to listen to an open primary, and that God awefull clutch noise... but thats just me. But... I must admit performance wise you do get power gains through rotating mass reduction.

I was thinking you can just notch the fender where it hits the frame and seal it up where its notched!

You never really talk about the bike after it's done. I mean, you go on a trip, or give it away, or sell it, but you never did a video of fine tuning the bike. Tuning the carb, test riding it, maybe changing the air filters because they're not adequate, or changing the jets, you know, stuff like this... Would you do it for this build?😊
