Man….how dare you take a motorcycle that you bought and paid for, and put your time, funds and energy into, and make it into the bike you wanted it to be?! The nerve!! 🤣😜 Keep on keeping on homie! Like the motto goes “not for everyone” 👊🏻👊🏻

Because the exact same thing could have been accomplished by buying the few pieces he took from the donor in the marketplace instead of destroying a clean, only factory original once, vintage EVO. Wasn't necessary and definitely not cost effective. Not to mention those of us who appreciate original vintage would like to deter others from doing the same thing, especially when parts are so prevalent in the marketplace, whereas factory originals are not.

The only caveat is if the donor was on a rebuilt title.

@@LNSPLTBLVD Excellent built, Man. Just one suggestion you might consider adding a Front Fork Brace. The brace will help make sure the wheel runs true. I have one on my '89 Sportster that I built into a Street Tracker with no front fender. Looks Kool 👍

You could build one just like it and for less money with a little research. People don't realize how easy HDs are to work on. Since you won't need the stock cosmetic parts you can buy an ugly condition Evo Softail, hardtail the frame (or ride it for a while to be sure your spine can hang with a hardtail, Softail frames can make clean customs) and freshen it up with a rattlecan (X25 works well) paintjob then make it exactly how you want it over time. The custom parts market makes it very low effort so go for the bike of your dreams. If new to this do buy a complete running donor.. Any later model Evo Softail will do that has the Denso starter (which also means spline shaft gearbox). If it's to keep you can use a salvage title donor bike (many get insurance totaled for cosmetic damage and that's coming off anyway).

save your penny, brother! We all started off with a dream, if you really really want it, you will find a way! Think of it as a crack head, they dont wake up thinking that they are broke and cant afford a fix. So they find a way, follow your dreams, its never too late!

There are plenty of them but the short custom is a lot lighter. People sometimes forget why bikers took off the dresser parts in the first place which was for performance. You can split the difference for a very popular style of the 1970s HD copied with their Shovelhead and early Evo FXWG. The nice thing is you can change flavors on big twins if you get bored and not have to switch bikes.

Beautiful! That’s the way we would have done it back in the day, the only difference would be lacquer instead of powder coat, and the engine. If I were building it the only difference in style would be to rake the sissy bar to match the angle of the handlebars, add a p-pad backrest, and pegs for a chick. But, everybody builds to taste, and you got perfect taste, Dave Mann would be proud. 👍
