At Stockholm Arlanda, we have a similar security check and it is incredibly much easier to go through now than it has been before. It's great not having to pick things out of the bags. Just leave everything behind and put the whole bag in a tray. Now it takes no more than a maximum of 5 minutes to go through the security check. In the past, it could have taken a very long time. However, I think that Palma has more travelers than Arlanda, but it will certainly go much faster than before.

Absolutely! It's going to be so much easier - I always found it so stressful taking all my things out of my bag. Hopefully the extra belts will speed things up too!

Sounds fantastic - I hope those with influence will,consider winter tourism after such a costly outlay. Weather is still lovely going into November/December and into the New Year! More income for all those working directly in hospitality and suppliers. Surely it’s a no brainer. Just my opinion. Well we've had the security area and a few delays today, but that'll be resolved. The main issue I can see is getting it all finished on time. Like all building work I guess, the clock is ticking!

Well, maybe they’ll also consider not closing the electronic gates for adult Brit passengers after a certain time at night. Until some migration worker took pity on us when I queried why my late evening arrival flight had to join the seriously huge queue ..with only a single window open to stamp our passports ( He let us take a quick shortcut) plus, that incredibly long walk to the exit . Not everyone needs assistance, but it could be made quicker . The very annoying stairs to clatter up and down with bigger cabin.luggage at the gates and at the aircraft are sadly at Brit airports too…should be fun if it’s raining hard . I have never flown during high season,but found security though very busy,very quick and easy, at both ends, especially in Majorca. They like us to get us out as quickly as possible. Lol

So they're putting more shops on the 4th floor where the old security was.. but security is now on the 3rd floor with the ability to go straight to module A.. so who will go to the new shops?

There will be an escalator after the security area going up to the redeveloped 4th floor - so you'll have the choice to either go straight to your gate or go shopping (or to the restaurants)

A very good upgrade for flights to UK but don't forget about the new security questions you will have to answer on hotel check in,ie bank account details,e mail account and other personal details.After 43 years of coming to Mallorca it will be my last.

Hello Alex, silent watcher here of all your videos! Thank you for the update re Palma airport. Do you know if anything was mentioned about the toilets. I know you have mentioned this before in videos, but they are really very unpleasant. We flew back home in early October - terminal A - and both the men’s and women’s toilets were sorry to say disgusting - even worse than usual. I will spare you (and everyone) the details but I went to the info point and complained (and encourage anyone else to do so). The lady apologised and immediately called someone.

@@Suzlr0 that's the same as anywhere, personally have been to cascai and up to visit Sintra and out to cabo de roca. Then been to the Lagos region of the Algarve and visited some of the famous Lagos beaches, along with Zavial and some wet coast beaches, up as far as Arrifanna. Love that region, great for surfing to. I now wish to visit Arrabida natural park and out to sesimbra (looks so nice). I did visit Majorca last month and liked it, the med is very different to the Atlantic, so was a nice change (we went Menorca earlier in the season also). Loots of really nice places in this world, if the Spanish wanna be difficult, we can go elsewhere
