Fantastic update thank you James. Adult mental health in men is a real concern of mine having lost a 34 year old nephew to suicide 6 years ago. It is the biggest killer of adult men under the age of 55 in Europe, yes it is that bad. Personally and as a result of an accident, I have suffered from PTSD since 1998 and is something that does tend to run my life. The biggest help for me was talking, not something that most men are good at. Its a cliche but "it is ok not to be ok". Look after those around you and encourage them to talk.

Thanks James, great update. Good to see the shed near completion. Nice to see all the machinery getting cleaned. I was wondering about problems with water sitting in bearings on the combine.

Bridgestone are technically correct. But if it’s only one tyre and on one outer edge of the tyre and not both sides it points to the tyre not running the load through the center of the tyre. This could be the alignment being off or a suspension issue. If you let me know if it’s wheel position and if it’s inside or outside tread tearing I can point you to which is the most likely cause. It’s unlikely to be a pressure issue as you run a very well maintained operation.

Excellent video, I really admire how you manage what I presume is a multi million pound business with all the trials and tribulations of weather associated problems, machinery repair and dealing with other businesses that you can walk your yard and speak to employees or visiting workers in a friendly manner and know their names. I have seen small businesses where the boss wouldn't know the first name of employees after 8- 10 yrs , I firmly believe being called your christian name makes you believe you are part of the work family and you have a greater interest in the progress of the business

Sandy is becoming quite a pro with his presentations., well done Sandy. He highlighted a big problem of stand in combine drivers not being up to the mark. ! Poor Griff was like a rabbit in the headlights when Sandy put him on the spot asking him to describe his role. ( I did feel for him, it was like the first time I was asked to do a driving commentary on my advanced driving course, when travelling at speed). Great presentation and a very educational update, especially the new drying equipment you have installed. Ever moving forwards. 🇬🇧🚜👍

Very interesting update the fifth combine must be worth its weight in gold. The combines look nice and clean and I’m wondering if you wax them as a farm I worked on, to mitigate fire risks, used to wax the combines before harvest so dust didn’t settle. The new building is coming along nicely hope you can crack on soon with the concreting!

James, yet another good video, does your training group run the mental health awareness course ? We run it here in Lincolnshire, when I was chairman of the group I went on it to show my support for the course, but actually I came back from it and learn a lot from it, and I have had people come and now talk to me, and given them advice on what to do, and it has worked, they have then come back and thanked me, we all joke about things, but the days of saying “man up” are gone, you can usually see who wants help, approach them, ask them, are they ok ? ‘it’s good to talk” ! All the best.

Regarding the dryermaster system, have you fitted the dryermaster moisture meters or have they managed to integrate them with the microwave moisture meters that were mentioned in a previous video thag were part of the Z-tech control system? I currently run another brand of control similar to the dryermaster but the moisture meter is unreliable.

Hi James great informative content very educational to my two young boys in particular who absolutely love farming and the kit etc.. I’m looking for your input as regards to the 942 drawbar, I have a new to us this year swapping out a 943MT for the 942 noticing that you guys have changed the 38mm drawbar to the 50mm like what the 943 has. Wondering have you any pictures of the one that you’ve had made please and cost approximately? Thanks look forward to hearing the latest on going farming videos 😊

Russ/Barry fitted a Dryermaster to our 30yr old Kentra dryer in 2022 because drying for others as well as our own, we tended to be over drying. It doesn't take that many tons at 1% too dry to lose a wagon load even at our small scale. Good system once you understand how it works.
@SpudSlingsbyАй бұрын
Have your fans got invertors fitted? Makes a huge difference to usability and running costs particularly when you're drying light stuff like Mustard OSR and oats to heavier stuff like wheat and beans

I assume Firestone are the same owner as Bridgestone? I had the same problem kn jcb handler tyres 2 out of 4. Same thing I was the only case never seen it before. Had warranty payout but only because my tyre dealer pushed so hard. Never had a tyre from them since. Prefer Michelin although dear last and grip much better.
@alistairnelson3216Ай бұрын
Don’t give an inch on that tyre. They will wriggle and squirm and come up with every excuse under the sun but don’t let them off the hook. They’ve never seen that before etc etc but sadly Bridgestones are prone to it on a xerion 5000 and Claas 950 near here a couple of years ago

I might have missed this, but why the pre cast concrete walls in the shed of dreams if its not a grainstore? Also, i've got a claim in against Anglian Water where they left a burst water main pumping for 10 days and ruined the corner of a sugar beet field, getting nowhere.

Nah,running on concrete? Are they serious 🤷♂️🤷♂️ Maybe pay them next time with Monopoly money and explain it’s still paper! I had a set of 850/55x42 Telliborg(spelt wrong) which are now Verdastein(also spelt wrong) They are the original low inflation manufacturer and in my experience the original of anything knows more and for longer,the rest are following But the best value for money was Pirelli(spelt right😂) No doubt about it,especially tyres that don’t get 100% use and sit a lot. Never run ag tyres backwards,they will anti torque and rip apart,they aren’t designed to go backwards
