Rule of thumb! In a group,ALWAYS ride with one finger on each brake level. Has saved me plenty of times in groups. Not to mention I always stagger the riding in front of me. Keeps you from swerving if needed for a panic stop.

Sorry to say in my 50 years of riding I have seen a lot jerk riders (especially in group rides) where there is a crash and many do not stop or even try to offer aid. I crashed in a group ride years ago along way from home and broke my prescription glasses and cut my head which was bleeding. This was pre-helmet/phone days and they just checked that I did not break any bones and they all just rode off and left me and I did not get home until way after dark with blood clotted hair. It looks like half the guys in this video cannot wait to get riding again...........

if you're not racing for medal, do not tailgate. even with the latest technology, no human can brake/response in time given the acute short distance between riders. and they claim its safer to ride in group. Without brain and common sense, solo or group ride makes no difference.
