Good job holding off on the shot . The older i get , the more i get it . If it was a first deer , sure , take the shot . Now , it's more quality over quantity . It's about the time in the woods , the experience , all of it . I got mine last Saturday, a nice 8 point , 182.5 dressed , over here in NH .... a full freezer for the winter ahead is a good feeling ,,,, but so is knowing there may be a big buck waiting out there for next year because you let him walk this time .....Someone else may take him before the seasons over , sure , but that's the chance you accept . You walking away feeling good about your choices is all that matters . Much success to you guys this season(if you havent already tagged out ) ; )

Nice hunt boys.... Oh do I want some snow to stick around....I just need 2 days of snow on the ground and I will be really really happy

Thanks Norman! I hope you guys get some snow! It’s been pretty short lived here as well except in the high elevations but most of it has turned to crunch/crust now that it’s been windy and in the teens for temps.

To each their own! That’s the beauty in it. We enjoy hunting season too much to end it right away. Good luck out there this season! Thanks for watching.

Nothing wrong with passing a buck that doesn’t excite you. Even if someone else would shoot it. Can’t shoot a big one if you put your tag on one you don’t want. Good work.

That’s right JB! Spot on, you know as well as anyone what it’s like out there in those mountains and how sometimes that might be the only buck you see all year. But you’re exactly right, it’s all about that inner feel in the moment… you know if it’s the right buck for you. Thanks for dropping in!

Exciting! Great footage! Nice call Mike to wait for a more mature buck. I heard the safety click off and expected to hear a shot! Then the safety clicked on. That big buck is out there, it's still early. Good luck!

I've watched a few of your videos. Do everyone else in the woods a favor. Buy some binoculars. I've been scoped before. Had all i could do not to send one into a tree near him. I've heard all the excuses. I taught hunter Ed for 25 years. I've never heard of a set of binoculars going off accidentally. A rifle can. Plus especially in these hills of the Adirondack mountains, not every person wears orange. Yeah I know it's the law. But they'll do it their way until caught. (Or shot). In low light, a hat just doesn't cut it. I grew up here in the Adirondacks. Spent 41 years in emergency services, going out on numerous reported shootings. Most happened just like your hunt here. Buddy with buddy(s). Especially with walkie talkies. A call of deer sighted gets the heart pumping and the brain overloaded. Yeah it sounds extreme, but it happens. So reduce the chances, use binos.
