Never, ever, do like this dude and hang around talking while you should be moving as fast as you safely can to a bird you just shot. I’ve had more than plenty recover from a load that didn’t brain or spine kill a bird get up and run/fly off. No telling if they were deformed enough to not survive. Feeding coyotes is a real possibility so close the gap as vigilantly as possible and make sure the bird is down for good. 50+ seasons and truckloads of birds of all subspecies am I. Reno
