I am a new member of Dodger Blue from Canada. And I've never even liked baseball! I have always been a diehard Lakers fan but have a newfound interest in baseball after learning more about Shohei Ohtani and the roster the Dodgers are putting together, also looking into past players from the Dodgers who are doing well elsewhere like Seager and Bellinger.

well of course yamamoto and his agent are gonna say he’s open to playing with other japanese players. saying anything else would limit his options as well as the options for the team that signs him haha. no way he turns down boston bc of yoshida, chicago bc of suzuki, SD bc of darvish or new york bc of senga. also the team that signs yamamoto would want to remain in the running for other future japanese players like sasaki. no way he’d limit his options during his free agency.

Dodgers should definitely sign Yamamoto and trade for Sox D.Cease who has had solid seasons the last 3 seasons with 32 plus games started and 200 plus Ks per season. Maybe they can get the Sox to add L.Robert Jr. Another young improving star.

What iffff we sign Yamamoto and trade for Soto and Cease. Soto is just as good of a hitter and gets on base more than Ohtani. Soto is also only 25, where Ohtani is 29. We don’t have to shell out 500 million for Soto to resign him. We also get a player 4 years younger. Sign Yamamoto and trade for Soto and Cease. We have the prospects. We have to cash them in. We can always build up prospects. If we didn’t have a GM like Friedman, then I’d be scared. But we turn-out prospects all the time to replenish the farm. We get 2 big arms and a big bat. 2 arms ages 25,27 and a bat that is 25. We not only get these guys who are contributing big time now, but we get them when they’re very young.

I used to live in Seattle and it's home away from home for people that are from Japan, they have a huge Japanese community up there. They got a lot of Japanese players, and I always think they always have a good chance of signing any of those top Japanese stars.

Wait until sasaki and murakami become available. It will look like the opening seconds of Black Friday. As for this offseason, the Nola deal is a really bad sign. That contract is bloated in AAV and years for arguably a pitcher who is good but not elite and is showing signs of trending down. That means GMs will be offering insane and non-sensical deals. Will friedman lose all sense of reason and offer a deal that may cripple the team long term for a short term boost? His long term strategy has kept the dodgers in the hunt for a decade. Moving away from that could condemn the team to an extended period of mediocrity (a path boston and the yanks seem to be headed).

Arenado's move is 3 years late (too expensive for those back issues). Instead of Bichette I'd prefer Candelario! If they're able work magic and get Ohtani and Yoshinobu it'll be awsome, they would only need to add a LHP (Montgomery would be like the cherry ontop). Yes, Yoshinobu won't have that extr day of rest BUT he's not gonna pitch more than 6 innings (they're not going to let him)

I think, and I hope I am wrong, Ohtani will go to the Giants. They are in dire need of a star and a face of the organization. Also, with the A's moving to Las Vegas, the Giants will eventually have the northern California market to themselves. The Giants struck out trying to get Judge and the Correa injury questions ended that potential relationship. I think they are prepared to overpay.

Imanaga is a better option since he’s a left and doesn’t command as much money. He started in the game against the USA in WBC. This way we can hopefully get Ohtani and Snell. Not sure what is going on with Gonsolin at this point he’s still a good pitcher so long as he’s healthy. Roberts over used him. I’m hoping Ohtani is actually ready to pitch some innings in post season. Same for Dustin May. Hopefully Kershaw is back too.
