Mick Jones is a musical genius.

Loved B.A.D. in south Texas and got to see them Everytime they came to Houston.....4 times I think, the last time they opened for Live at a big open air venue, I took my son's, who was a big Live fan at the time. I always thought The Clash would get back together and we would get to hear all that great music that made me what I am today. Mick and Joe were so good together, and were great working separately in the Mescolaros and B.A. D. I saw the Clash when I was 16 at the small venue Cullen Auditorium, it was the 1st time I saw people literally dancing in the aisles. I became a lifelong fan and I never became a yuppie or sold my soul to some giant corporation. They were much more than a band for me, they friggin in were a way of life and they opened my eyes on the world. When Joe died I spent oandyear listening to nothing but the Clash and BAD for one year. Mick I am so glad you are still around even though we don't hear to much from you anymore, you owe me no explanation. We damn sure need Joe Strummer now more than ever. I will always remember the great times and great shows, maybe we will get to meet up, so put the coffee on Joe, we will all be coming home soon brother. Mick you damn sure made the world a better place. Much love from south Texas.

I have seen them over 3 times in the early 90s , they were ,still are to this day , synth based , samples and electronic drum programming pioneers, one of my main influences for my music, soon to be in production. Just play that music , Medicine show Ticket Could go on forever 😜 Because Mick Jones was from a Punk background, The clash- their totally alternative sound quick transition to indi electronic was a breath of fresh air , as at that time of my life everyone was into crap rock shit , I would even sell kids at school tapes , and say this is what music of the future Will sound like . It's now over 30 years later, OMFG 😱- yes I told you . And love to rub the fact of the matter in everyone's faces . Thanks boys 😘

how popular was this song back in the day? im surprised this song doesnt have more views, verrryyyy timeless and i fuckin love it
@breadbutt3 жыл бұрын
@@bakebook I have no idea how popular it was. I only found out about it because I used to record 120 minutes every Sunday and then put it on audio cassette. I lived in suburb of a medium sized city in the Midwest, there was one really good radio station, but it was too far away to come in clearly.

While 'Peek-A-Boo' by Siouxsie And The Banshees is the very first number 1 on the newly formed Billboard Modern Rock Tracks in 1988 (Alternative Airplay today), this song became the second number 1 song a week after.

+@Kevin Butler: And yet nothing any of the other former Clash members ever did even reached this level. Mick Jones and Joe Strummer (RIP) were cases of two Martys and no Shawns. Explanation: On the January 12, 1992 (taped December 3, 1991) episode of "WWF Wrestling Challenge", The Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty) split up when Shawn turned heel on Marty and threw him through the window on the set of Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake's "The Barber Shop" talk show segment. Shawn went on to be a 3x WWE World Heavyweight Champion (undeservedly, since he wasn't any kind of a box office draw, plus he was a whiny lying crybaby asshole who set a record for losing titles through means other than actually getting pinned in the ring.). Marty became such a standard bearer for the guy who gets left behind when a tag team splits up that, on TV Tropes, the trope Breakup Breakout was originally called "The Jannetty." (tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BreakupBreakout ) Forgive me if you knew about this already.
