12:30 ball and zero is the same word in Korean, it’s “gong” or 공. It doesn’t really have a sexual connotation like it does in English, lol. Zutter is just a funny romanization of a Korean slang word 쩔어 which means dope, cool, awesome but I don’t hear it as much as I used to.

Actually Blue is the song they released after they hit their first rock bottom in 2011 with some scandals that made everyone think that they might disband. Blue has a special meaning to them and to fans too because it kind of means a new beginning for them as well. Winter is gone and spring is coming.

I've always been fascinated by the fame of BIGBANG. You can ask the questions: what made them the icons of kpop? Why them? I came to the conclusion that when they appeared, they were nothing like other kpop idols: they didn't look or act like the ideal men Korean society was expecting them to be. Once you stripped them from all the cool clothes, they were just human, people who you could walk by on the street and maybe think to yourself: these guys look charismatic. They showed their humor, and their raw personalities and managed to establish themselves as icons. I'm sad that their reputation and career were tainted by what happened, that whole situation left me drained, I even left the kpop community for over a year because I was so affected by the situation, and also multiple other members of groups I love leaving. Now I feel like I matured enough to learn how not to be influenced by this industry and to enjoy its positive aspects. So if there are any new kpop fans lurking in the comments, one piece of advice I can give you: try to not let the negativity of this industry affect you. Stay for the great music, excellent talent, and fun content, but don't dwell on the dark-side too much. Acknowledging those parts is enough, focus on the positives in order to look after yourself. (Sorry for the random life lesson at the end, i feel like some younger fans might need to hear this)

i believe zutter's tittle is actually based on the lyric 쩔어 (jjeoreo) which means dope or awesome, and because this guys are geniuses and trendsetters, instead of making the english translation of the tittle as "dope", coz that'll be boring, they made it "zutter" which is actually can be the way of pronouncing or the sound that you will produce when you say jjeoreo, just like what u said, there is no z's in korean language so they pronounce it as j. and as for gd's line about balls, just like what many have commented, 공 (gong) is ball/zero in korean, so basically, gd is telling us that he is rich-rich and he have so many zero's on his bank account.

Bad Boy and Blue were both from the Alive album and filmed in NYC. Zutter is from the MADE album which had the concept of Made Men (gangsters who have proved themselves and are set for life) since BB have always been the atypical group/bad boys/boundary pushers who have been scrutinized harder for any scandal they can be accused of yet still have so many loyal fans. GD will often use double or triple meanings in the lyrics, especially in Korean since he will often use Korean idioms or a play on idioms. His hair in Good Boy I think was actually made from stuff like glow sticks. Only a few of their latest MVs have subtitles.

Taeyang and GD were supposed to debut as a hiphop duo before YG changed his mind and decided to form the group that we now know as Bigbang (they also had a survival programme). They have known each other and trained together since they were about 11 or 12. Anyway, Good girl gave me an idea of what they might have sounded like have they debuted as a duo.

You’ll be amazed by BIGBANG’s live performances. If their mvs and songs are already sounding real good, much more their live perfs. They also tour with a live band, their music is live and they’re singing live and performing live. Sometimes, esp for idol groups where live perfs don’t live up to the hype of the recorded songs but with BIGBANG that’s a different story. VIPs rather watch their live performances than music videos to be honest. They listen to the live albums sometimes more than the studio records. BIGBANG doesn’t need massive, perfect choreography. Their presence alone is outrageous. Their adlibs are insane. lol. T.O.P can even just stand or walk & the audience will be madly smitten. They’re soooo funny and real too. THEY NEVER GIVE A FUCK. They put out music and it’s up to you to listen or not. But the more you listen, the more you’ll appreciate the variety of genres they put out. The melodies of their songs will stick with you that you’ll hum it even if you cant sing it. 😅

"Blue" and "Bad Boy" were filmed around the same time. They're both from the Alive album which was Big Bang's comeback after a scandal-plagued 2011 when Daesung was accused of causing someone's death in a car accident and got to the point of nearly killing himself, and G-Dragon tested positive for marijuana which in South Korea is a major offense. The song "Fantastic Baby" was also from Alive and the music video makes more sense once you know about what had happened.

You never know where they're gonna take yoj cuz they don't follow the trends and they evolve their style all the time. That's why they're so interesting - other than the fact that they're incredible singers/rappers who are known to give the best K POP LIVE Performances (yea they sound even more epic live). But the higher the achievement the more you're gonna get criticized, and the more their flaws are going to be used to distract people from bigger scandals (of the higher ups for instance). What I like about YGE's Artist is that they don't conformed with what is everybody's doing back then. When everyone's doing a box MV's, most of their MV are done outside. When almost all idols doing same outfit, they have individual colors and style so it's easy to recognized them. That's why it was easy for me to recognized who's who in Bigbang, 2NE1, Winner, iKon, and Blackpink. Even with hairstyle, they are trend setter. I still remember when everybody was awed on GD's hairstyle in Fantastic Baby. Same with Sandara Park's (2NE1) hairstyle in I Love You MV. Even my friend copied Dara's hairstyle. If you watched fanboys of BB or even those who doesn't stan them, they say they become a fan because of their styles. A lot says they copied Taeyang's hair or GD's and mannerism.

Anyway I just want to comment on your intro explaining the last video selection. You chose the song lineup well. 1. Haru Haru (one of debut song), 2. Monster (comeback after scandals), 3. In all of Bigbang's lyrics there are just SOOO many play of words that only native Koreans are able to understand. It's only possible to grasp the poetic twists with a full understanding of Korean culture, subtext and the language including basic background knowledge of old Chinese characters and their meaning in Korean vocabulary. blue, bad boy and fantastic baby were released together in "alive" mini album in 2012 after what happened in 2011. people including us wondered if they could come back. however they didn't just make it, but they made it the biggest one. after alive, we all wonder with what they would come back to make it as successful. they came back in 2015 with "made" which is one of the best albums. if i could match the songs between alive and made, it will be like this. blue : loser fantastic baby : bang bang bang and for special meaning, they gave us blue / alive (intro and full song) for the comeback from what seemed really difficult. this time they gave us still life. that's why you found they're quite familia.

Thank you for this reaction! others have already answered the question about zutter hahaha BIGBANG has a lot of wordplay in their songs, so always pay attention because they confuse sometimes hahaha. I recommend others songs/MVs from BIGBANG: dirty cash// Lies // Tell me goodbye // Tonight (all are a bit older but these are great songs).

I believe BAD BOY this was filmed in Jan or Feb of 2012? In NYC, in freezing temp. Taeyang does have tattoos, but the arm ones were fake.

Been a fan since 2008! I love them. Was fortunate to attend MADE concert in New York. Was a great experience, although I don't recommend standing vip section. The fans there's are crazy and will push and pull to get to the front.

I've never watch Zutter MV eventho GD is my ult bias since 12 years ago hahaha cause its not my vibe but because of you, im watching it together for the first time too. Haha.
