Backstory? ufff man! bigbang's past surely is one of the BEST out there. They aren't the kings of kpop for nothing, Bigbang are basically THE trendsetters. THE MOLD. THE BLUEPRINT. THE GAMECHANGERS. Yes there were other bands & amazing groups before them that are legendary, but when Bigbang appeared? they literally changed the industry (music critics, singers and producers say this not just me as a fan). Why they changed it? because when bigbang appeared they had control over their own art, the lyrics, the music, the arrangement, the concept, something that simply wasnt common in those times, the arragements of their songs, their positions in the group their roles, their creativity? their vision? everything they did was copied to a certain extent by other groups. What you see today as kpop? (not all of them obviously) had influence of bigbang even if just a little, be it the hair color? the distribution of lines and roles within the group? the process, the imagery the videos etc etc etc. Bigbang have been making hit after hit ever since 2007 (they debuted in 2006 but took them 1 year to gain that boost) but ever since bigbang came to be? there has been NO competition for them, since 2007 there is Bigbang VS every other idol group ever. No matter how many bts there are, no matter how many blckpinks there are, no matter how many of anything there are, No One has been capable of beating what Bigbang has gained and become. Bigbang really is unique, basically "the idols of all idols". Thank you for watching

BigBang debuted in 2006 from YG entertainment, and are the ones that made YG one of the big 3. They were the biggest group and broke and set all kinds of new records in 2nd gen and are also considered the kings of kpop for helping make what kpop is today. A lot of big idols like BTS look up to them and some members decided to get into kpop because of them or more specifically their leader GD. There are 5 members (though one retired last yr) G-Dragon (red hair, high tone rapper) is their leader, trendsetter, he writes/produces all their music and his solo stuff along with some of the members, he also made it a thing in kpop to write your own music and produce because back then hardly anyone did it until he made it popular, he also created the lightstick which is now used by every kpop group fandom, made hiphop/based groups popular in kpop and in music and he's Koreas biggest kpop idol which is why they call him the king of kpop. Other members are TOP (cowboy hat and deep tone rapper), Taeyang (pink hair main Vocalist & dancer), Daesung (hair in eyes main Vocalist) and Seungri (blonde hair, lead Vocalist & dancer also retired last yr) They are known for going against the kpop norm(2nd gen kpop was way more restricted than now) and not caring what anyone thought so they were considered "Bad Boys" they have unique music and videos and love doing weird and out of the box concepts.Though they started out doing choreography like most groups, they stopped doing it as much because when on stage they want to be able to interact with their fans more. They're also known for their crazy hype live stages where they also always sing live. They went on hiatus a couple yrs ago to fulfill their mandatory military duty (all Korean men have to in list by the age of 28 and have to do 1.5 to 2 yrs) most of the members got out last year and they were supposed to have their comeback at Coachella earlier this spring before it got canceled because of covid, but its rumored they plan to comeback soon, and recently it was announced G-Dragon is working on music for his solo comeback soon. Actually, all the 3rd and 4th generation of kpop today has a BIGBANG formula . K-hiphop become a trend because of bigbang they are the most respected in kpop, they all look up to bigbang. The way they dress,color their hair,having fandom lightstick,kpop fashion,having solo album while your still in a group etc....That's the few things bigbang contribute to kpop. They are like 5 artist combined in one group,They have their own solo career,even solo world tour, especially their leader g-dragon having the most largest solo concert by a korean act.They are the best in live performances .Their in hiatus for 4years now because of military .But now we're looking forward to their comeback.

This is my favorite song of all kpop songs. another good one to react to is Monster by big bang and Taeyang and G-dragon has a solo song called i am a good boy that is really good and Taeyang also has a solo ring a linga that i love. Of course any big bang songs are awesome. Goodbye is another one but very sad.

And yeah, kpop makes western artists look lazy af lol. And I agree about "what do they put in the water over there. They can all dance, sing, rap, perform live, great mv's, and to top it off, a lot of them can act. A lot of kpop idols act in k-drama's as well. Taehyung, (V from BTS ) is in one called Hwrang (historical drama about the Flower Knights of old) and 4 members of Ateez are set to be in a new k-drama. Many of them are, quadruple threats.
