She paraded a string of boyfriends in front of Leonard before she ever considered giving him a chance, she tried to hook up with him When she was drunk one time, not to mention his own insecurities and anxieties. Also the fact that he totally put her on a pedestal, which usually ruins the chance of any guy. If this weren't a comedy, I doubt Leonard could have actually ever gotten Penny.

@@unstepintime Honestly, I think that from the fifth season onwards she didn’t look like she cared for him that much. That’s how I saw it. It’s true that we can’t really tell if Alex would have been good for him (or him good for her) because we saw so little of her. I think that part of why the people that see Alex as a better partner for Leonard, is that almost 100% of what we saw of her was positive towards him. I’m not sure if I explained that properly.

the problem is though that when you look at his frozen yogurt, that cherry was the one from the top, and it was already confirmed that she took the stem off the cherry that was on top. so it is literally impossible for him to have gotten a cherry stem in his throat! its lazy directing and something that anybody will notice.

The character of Alex was introduced and then vanished without trace after around 6 episodes and was never referred to again. The same thing happened with Dr. Gablehauser in series 1 (sorry, season 1, you and your American foibles!)😊 Maybe there's something about Cal Tech we're not being told?
