A lot of people seem to assume that Amy has a weird type of sexual attraction to penny, (which is slightly true) but what most people mostly look over is that Amy, looks up to penny, she thinks she’s beautiful, funny, street smart, spontaneous, charismatic, and fearless…something she fears she herself, isn’t. I seriously question how two of the three of you function in normal society. Penny herself admitted at the end that Amy is her best friend because she’s always there for Penny no matter what. It has nothing to do with psychobabble programming or manipulation or forcing anything. If Penny was so weak minded that somebody forcing their feelings onto her would have fostered a relationship, she’d have dated Howard. That’s not what happened here. Amy and Penny became friends because after seven years of many ups and downs in each other’s lives, they unconditionally supported one another through those times; Penny’s on-again, off-again romance with Leonard, Amy’s breakup with Sheldon, Penny’s growth from shallow party girl to responsible career woman and wife, Amy blossoming from clinically unsocial wallflower to Nobel-winning scientist with great friends, a husband and a child, all of it. They were strangers who grew into best friends. There’s nothing nefarious about that. It’s beautiful. Maybe some of you can understand that when you get friends someday. 😊

The conditioned response was to her friendship….. otherwise her conditioned response would’ve stayed with the annoyance….. Amy’s growth into a more social person and all of that helped.
