Small correction. Schrodinger didn't use the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment to explain superposition. He was against it and used the thought experiment to show how ridiculous according to him the Copenhagen interpretation was. But over time people forgot the real intention of Schrodinger's cat and use it to explain superposition instead. Other than that small point, your facts are correct. Good job

Also, the Copenhagen interpretation actually doesn't think that there's one true position but rather, all the states predicted in the superposition are true and the very act of observation makes it collapse to a single state. Slight mistake on his part but he never intended to talk about the Copenhagen view, although I believe he should have, given Schrodinger's true intentions

Pranav, Schrödinger's cat is the misunderstood pet of quantum mechanics. @@lampad4549 There is ample evidence that wavefunction collapse is not driven by conscious observers alone. In fact, every interaction a quantum particle makes can collapse its state. In the real world Schrödinger's cat "experiment" would play out as follows: as soon as the radioactive atom interacts with the Geiger counter, it collapses from its non-decayed/decayed state into one definite state. The Geiger counter gets definitely triggered and the cat definitely gets killed or the Geiger counter definitely does not get triggered and the cat is definitely alive. But both don't happen simultaneously.

This guy always missed the point. HG well imagined about Moon Landing in a era where Gravity, Moon, Universe, concept of time etc was proven by scientific methods. While Vedas, Mahabharata and Ramayana was written thousands of years ago when there was no scientific literature or theory exists. So are you saying that people who wrote those books just *imagined* the concept of multiverse out of nothing? If that so, that means our ancestors were way ahead of time and actually scientifically advanced which is again something you don't like you talk about. You called people religious fanatics, bhakts or what not but you can't justify how someone from 5000 years ago can imagine and describe the concept of time, universe, multiverse, creation and destruction!

And by the way that story of Lord Hanuman going through the Earth when Shri Raam had dropped his ring is not real. This particular story is not real. This is a story made up by the author to suggest the possibility of a multiverse and the story of Kakbhushundi who can travel through different time periods of the universe and each time the outcome of the same vent is entirely different is also symbolic and is not to be taken literally. So understand the meaning that is being tried to convey. Our ancestors have left a great bunch of literature, philosophy and sciences I know many people do exist who extract an altogether senseless meaning out of such stories and claim to be rational. They will probably say "How can a crow live so long and travel through different time scales ?" or maybe "How can a monkey dive deep into the Earth and reach a different world. Don't you know Earth has layers like crust and mantle inside it ?" So there is no end to such useless comments A foolish mind will perceive everything as foolish So just proceed

When Schrodinger performs scientific work, however, he has a full awareness of the divinity of Nature, so that his approach to research is in accord with his belief in VEDANTA. Schrödinger then relates this idea to the expression in the earliest Upanishads: Atman- Brahman, the personal self is identical with the all-comprehending universal self. Far from being blasphemous, this idea, the essence of Vedanta to him the grandest of all thoughts He was a lifelong believer in Vedanta and he never wavered in this belief. _source_ : *Schrödinger* life and thought by Walter Moore looks like your PRANAV failed to mention these facts because it doesn't fit quite well in his PROPAGANDA.

The concept of a multiverse, as we understand it today, is not explicitly mentioned in the Vedas, which are the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. However, there are certain passages and verses in the Vedas that suggest the existence of multiple planes of existence or realms beyond the physical world. For example, the Rigveda describes the world as having three levels: the earth, the atmosphere, and the sky or heaven. The Atharvaveda mentions the existence of various realms or lokas, such as the realm of the gods (Devaloka), the realm of the ancestors (Pitrloka), and the realm of the demons (Asuraloka). Additionally, the Upanishads, which are philosophical texts that explore the nature of reality and consciousness, describe the concept of Brahman, which is the ultimate reality that underlies all existence. According to some interpretations of the Upanishads, Brahman can manifest itself in multiple forms and dimensions, suggesting the possibility of a multiverse. Overall, while the Vedas do not have a specific concept of a multiverse as we understand it today, they do suggest the existence of multiple planes of existence and the possibility of different dimensions beyond the physical world.

Yeah Ranveer is a classic grifter but your argument came off very weak in this video tbh. Comparing someone predicting we landed on moon to someone predicting there is a multiverse is like comparing apple and oranges. One is pausible reality and other is out of the box concept. Also, there didn't seem any other concrete points apart from it. The 70-80% of video went into explaining the conflicted views of science community on multiverse , but that doesn't really disapprove anything , all it says is that it's up for debate. At the best you can say that the person who wrote about this story in the multiverse can be compared to a theoretical physicist for them to even think about that concept in such an early ages when science was barely a thing.

it is not theoretical physics when someone plainly writes it like a story. A scientific theory is not just like the casual “hey i have a cool theory for this” wala theory. Also, Scientific theories exist to explain an anomaly/gap in observation.. I can't even imagine how can someone think those fantastical events described there happened really. I clearly remember once arguing about it with my mom when I was very young and she said that there must be some reality in all those events else why someone wrote them and then I said to her that same thing can be applied to stories of Superman yet we know they never happened really and she had no answer for that.

So something is TRUE only when a committee comes together and decides which one passes thru and which one doesn't? Based on what? Don't you think there's a possibility they themselves may have a bias, Afterall they have possibly spent their lifetimes in those chosen paths? Nobody has exclusivity/monopoly over the truth. Scientific approach appeals to rationality. And it does indeed pass the test of scrutiny in certain immediate surroundings of our society. All the technological advancement we have had over the years is a testament to this fact. That said, it is also a system that's inherently dependent on and is limited by what's currently observable/measurable. Often, larger we increase the scope, more and more its current shortcomings come into question. You see, not too long ago, what we could observe was all that we could only see, hear, touch and taste using our own sensory faculties. Later on, we invented tools that extended the range and sensitivity of these faculties. Light for instance. before we discovered the spectrum, we only ever knew the 'visible' light. who is to say in the future, we won't stumble onto tools that in turn design tools that take these up a notch, or even open up all together different frontier? The smorgasbord of complexity we have just beginning to 'observe' (and understand to a degree) about our immediate world and the universe itself should be rather humbling. When there's seemingly infinite things more the learn and understand, lets be open to different possibilities, including different 'scientific' paths. Afterall, theses paths aren't the be-all end-all, that they are mere tools in pursuit of truth.

But what problem did you find in this video? All Pranav said was that there's not enough consensus in the scientific community about this theory for it to be reasonably credible. That's partially because (a) the mutliverse hypothesis is in its early stages of development, and (b) parts of the current theory involve unfalsifiable or untestable statements. If you understand how scientific developments take place, and how we "come to know the truth", then you should easily understand that as of now, the multiverse theory is not "truth" (by modern standards). Maybe in the future we will, but that does not mean we start believing in it as of now. Because as per that rationale, we should also start believing in dragons in the hopes that we will be able to create a fire-breathing flying mutant reptile or robot in the future. After all, a fire-breathing dragon is physically possible!

So in a way, it's true Hinduism talks about Multiverse, and Ranveer and BigBrainCo both are right. If it really exists or not is the topic of another debate but the point is "there are infinite number of universes" is a well accepted fact from Hinduism. and thus the idea comes from Hinduism. whether it's true or not is yet to be tested, so no one is fooling anyone as everyone knows even if it's true we can never see other parallel worlds

The most stupid argument i have ever heard in debunking something.. here you have not debunked multiverse idea is not in hinduism rather than you have mentioned two things… multiverse is itself unscientific as it cannot be tested and doesn’t make any difference in our reality. 2) puranas can be a work of fiction than reality. I accept your propositions .. lets discuss logic… anything untestable is unscientific… the basic block of our reality is considered to be an atom .. is it particle with shape and size or a wave which was unknown till date.. and the experiments say when the behaviour depends on the conscious observer behaviour…. So when the basic block of this reality has two questions.. how does it change and what consciousness has to do with this… where both consciousness and true nature of atom are untestable so unscientific … .. then is science really a tool to understand our reality in the first place which cannot answer the bare basics of this reality? … how much scientific is science in understanding these? … coming to your second proposition… when a fiction writer writes a fiction he mentions it clearly… where as purpose of the Puranas is very specific.. “to explain nature of the reality/god which cannot be perceived through tools but only through experience”.. also the scientists neils bohr and planck who were founding fathers of quantum physics and multiverse theories are themselves avid readers of puranas, upanishads..then what’s wrong when we say these theories have origins in puranas?.. note that noble prize for 2023 was given to people who experimentally proved the quantum entanglement theory which is based on the same untestable quantum physics laws on atom.

Ok dude I agree with you that it is not scientific but big brains co. Never said in it video that this stuff is scientific rather they said that this scientists proposed this theory and they talked about Marvel movies where this multiverse concept is used . They said that multiverse concept we hear today is already mentioned in our Sanatan dharm scriptures not but they never claimed this theory is right. And it's true even in bhagwat gita also there is mentioned , the concept of multiverse and puranas and Vedas also. Stop redirecting the video motive in other direction , they never claimed it's true and all of us know it's not coz it hasn't been proved

Hi Pranav, love your videos... couple of points: 1. Probably you can dub some of your debunking videos to vernacular languages like Hindi, Telugu... Your audience don't need convincing, they're already and if you want them to spread the word, then English might not be the most effective medium 2. You can pick topics that can reach masses once in a while rather than something this niche... Like picking few predictions of astrology and deconstructing them Also, I don't want to point out but sometimes your tone becomes condescending, especially on your personal channel.. If you want to reach out to more people, you should sound objective to the person who won't believe you (I'm not a creator so I don't know what goes behind your decisions, just wanted to put my thoughts out)

Pranav, once again a well produced and well researched video. However, I want to point out a troubling observation which may portend a disappointing forecast. Bigbrainco's multiverse video published 3 months ago has 1.1 million views. The channel has 1.04 million subs. Most of bigbrain's content over the past month has a 6-digit view count ranging from 150k to 800k views. The other thing I noticed is religion based content, especially content that aggrandizes Hinduism or ancient scriptures, get views in the high 400k to 700k neighborhood. On the other hand, your channel puts out well researched, easily comprehensible, critical and rational content, but the view count has rarely gone into 6 digits. Notable exceptions are your videos on flying beast and fittuber that went into 6 digits, which I assume is due to the fact that you called out their names in the titles and they must have shown up in the numerous searches for these creators. I see a similar trend when titles contain big names like Abhi and Niyu, Dr. Zakir Naik, and Shark tank. I am not throwing shade on you; merely observing. I interpret the following from the findings: 1. Indians seem to like content that is populist, sensationalist, aggrandizes hindu religion, jingoistic, and pride stroking. 2. There are fewer Indians who are amenable to content that is rational, thought provoking, uncomfortable, and critical of the Indian identity and attributes. 3. Given this, I want to reiterate what I have commented in few of your older videos that Indians, in general, don't have an appetite for science, rational thinking, criticism, and the scientific method. It's a backward, tribal, and unenlightened culture, like many other cultures on the planet. 4. This situation will probably not improve, given Indians' general apathy or aversion for thinking rationally, separation of religion from regular life, and asking questions to anything that is perceived as superior or an authority. 5. While your content is fantastic, it may hit a ceiling given that there are only so many Indians interested in your inquiries and explanations.

@@matrixsmarther2325 I am talking about religion which is far more insidious than celebrity worshipping. With celebrities, one wrong move and they are ostracized. Case in point is Kanye. In India, it's mainstreamed and legitimized. That's the difference.

The problem is, when we talk about religion, we have to give the benefit of doubt to religion, by accepting that Gods are real. No matter the religion, if we already consider that it's illogical and unreal due to lack of evidence or due to fiction story books, it's alright useless to talk any further. So i think before knowing about a religion's authenticity or existence, we should focus on the teachings.

Well pretty shallow parallelism when you talk about the book about the moon. A better question to ask is how did they think of the concept of infinite? What was their understanding of what the universe entailed? It’s incredibly easy to play the semantic game and debunk anything. One must always keep their mind open and keep questioning. Although this is a vague sentence, it has to be. I cannot define the parameters of what open mindfulness is exactly, which highlights the semantic gaps of our language and comprehension. We would not have dialogue if not for this undefinability of words.
