It is so hard to give props to one or another at the absolute top of the ladder. Who is THE best? What are the criteria? Is it technique? Is it passion? Is it highs? Is it lows? Is it Lara? Is it Floor? Is it Diana (and which Diana would it be, Navarro, or Ankudinova), is it Angelina, or is it someone else entirely. There are so many great singers and the more I hear, the more I am sure there is no best for me. Just good and better ones. :)

What always shocks me is when anyone else signs this song, or songs like it.. they finish completely out of breath, sucking for air, basically panting with the amount of effort it takes to sing it... Lara finishes and is like “that was fun”. Lol Her stamina is out if this world and just one more reason she is indeed The Ring!

WOW, I love Lara. The emotion touches me. Thanks for your reaction. Lara is living the song. She connect to the song. It may sound crazy, but i came to listen to Lara, because i was listening to Emma Kok with a cover of 'Voila' (70 million hits on KZbin). This 15 year old girl sang 'Voila' last year with full orchestra and many reactions said that she was a young Lara Fabian. I love Emma Kok, so i checked out Lara. And yes, i am not disappointed. Lara is amazing and the way she delivers the song is astonishing. It is a compliment for Emma to be called a young Lara. Please check out Emma Kok also. 4 weeks ago she had a new song out 'Dancing on the stars'. I am now a fan of Lara also.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash, Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, … They made great covers but none of these match the storytelling amazing performance of Lara in this concert From Lara with Love. Her italian version is also amazing.
