Nikki spent her childhood in and out of hospitals for her mental health. She spent a long time in the strictest eating disorder inpatient clinic in the country, in north london called Rhodes Farm. I too was a patient there more recently. AND i would just like to point out that after conversations with staff there who knew Nikki personally and who treated her for years, every member of staff pointed out that THIS is exactly what she is like. NOTHING ON THE SHOW WAS AN ACT! A true legend.

You can kind of see how trauma works here, she started developing these tendencies at the age of 7 and emotionally she is very stuck in that childlike state. I realised this a couple if years ago that emotionally it was as if I was 13, because that’s when I had a trauma. She’s such a gem though, so so sad 😔

You make a really good point. Her anorexia started at about 7/8 years old, so mentally, a lot of her emotional reactions are from that age. I’ve had friends who started taking hard drugs and got addicted at 14/15/16, and then got clean in their 30s. They stunted their emotional health and maturity in their mid teens, so had to learn, realistically, how to act and live like an adult. It works the same with, as you said, trauma - Can be any sort of trauma too. I wish more people knew this.

As an autistic woman, I would bet my life that Nikki was. This is what it looks like in adults. These are meltdowns. We are lovely people who feel things so intensely it's overwhelming. We are very connected to our emotions. We are the truth tellers, the artists and the ones with true soul. RIP Nikki. xxx

I absolutely agree I’m autistic and I can relate to her, however I’m no where near as passionate as she is, but she will always be a legend to me and my mother my mum thought she was hilarious and nuts. (Before we knew she had anything wrong with her).

Omg finally, iv been searching for these comments so so badly, 💯 she presented as an undiagnosed autistic woman, eating disorders are part of it breaks my heart that she didn't get the correct help. When I was a younger,I would act like this.. everyone thought I was crazy,I spent time in institutions, finally at age 52 I got a diagnosis of ASD and it all made sense, eating disorders,meltdowns shutdowns, self harm, drug misuse.all of it was trying to mask or medicated sensory overload, it's sad that Nikki got all of that for entertainment, RIP niKki❤

@Harmony May There is a difference between "frequent sever outbursts" in People and witnessing it in everyday private life, and seeing someone "acting" out on a Big Brother TV Show where there are cameras on her and which she applied to appear on, and so no, in her case it was not obvious. It only became obvious later on in life when her eating order became apparent.

i never said she was faking. And if you noticed how and why she "acted" the way she did, if her outbursts were "obviously" a sign of someone with mental health issues and if her eating disorder was " obvious" to you then did you attempt to do something about it, like contact big brother and ask them to maybe take her out of the house and get her some help? Somehow i doubt it, but if you did try to intervene and make them notice and do the right thing for her then by all means explain it, id be interested to know. (i barely watched her time on big brother as I'd lost interest after 2005)

Nikki vs Helen was one of the greatest moments of the show. Helen always needed to be brought down a peg, she was universally accepted as a bully and fixing accusations came up when it turned out Helen was always represented by the team behind the show and no one was better than Nikki to tear into her.

This video popped up on my recommended, on April 9th (the day she passed) I watched it and laughed so much she was just a pure little diamond and I will miss watching her terribly! Her death was announced a day later on April 10th but to think I was watching this the day she died and it hadn’t been revealed was crazy! ANOTHER LEGEND GONE FAR TOO SOON! Yes it’s so sad. when I was anorexic I felt cold to my bones all the time. Wearing a coat 24/7 and any cold felt like torture. Also the anger from being hungry makes sooo much sense.

Can't believe she passed away. I'm a US fan and watched all of the series she appeared on. I remember the last time I saw her on tv (I think BOTS), she didn't look so good . A lot of the comments were about her weight and how she looked thinner than usual. It's too bad she never got help/treatment for what she was battling.
