Mercedes-Benz is one of the oldest and most luxurious car companies in the world, worth around 80 billion dollars. But being among the most desired and expensive cars today, it’s easy to forget its early humble beginnings.
It all started with a poor engineer, who faced many doubts, hates and failures in his pursuit of building the first horseless carriage. In spite of that, he proved everyone wrong and turned his small venture into the world's first and biggest production car company during the 1890s and early 1900s.
But what started as an inspiring success story, took a surprisingly dark turn, when the company profited from supplying military vehicles to the Nazis under the works of forced labors.
So well, sit back and relax, today we’ll be covering the insane story of Mercedes-Benz, and the man who brought automobiles to life, Karl Benz.

Without Karl Benz, there would be no engine no car to produce. Creating, innovating and producing cars were not an easy feat. Without Bertha Benz and her support, Karl benz's cars wouldn't survive. She proved that Benz's cars are essential and reliable when she drove the car over long distances. Kudos to both of them. Beautiful partnership.

Actually Mercedes benz comes way after company was established. Rich Austrian guy wo loved racing asked Daimler company to build car for him so he can race, they did it and he won race, so as a reward from Daimler he get to name his car as he wants, since he had daughter called Mercedes he gave that name and the rest is history.

Bertha taking her sons in the ‘car’ was the true marketing genius.. I have a feeling the creator of this fascinating quick history is not yet a parent… A parent, especially a mother, who is so confident in the safety of a new & scary technology that she would not only allow her child to be in, but both her boys with her driving and going 60 miles… That was the reason for the rapid interest & increasing support of the automobile..

The birthplace of Carl Benz was torn down in the 1950s to make room for more cars (yes, the irony). Still, a small correction: It wasn't the town of Mühlberg, but Mühlburg, which is a district in the city of Karlsruhe (the difference being one character or 350 miles). Karlsruhe was the birthplace of both the bicycle (Karl Drais) and the automobile (Carl Benz).

I really wonder how time has changed.... People of new generation are mentally sick due to these social platforms. Everyone wants to become famous without doing anything. And in those times Legends like Carl whose only passion is to make his dream come true were born.... i mean it's quite sad.... people at that time with minor resources used to create revolutionary things and now with the presence of everything humans have became dull. This proves what a single person can do if he really gets into his interest and think only about that... 🔥 That's why inventions are only things of past and not now

We thank God for granting Karl Benz as The Father of Automobile & Bertha Ringer as The Mother of Automobile 🏆 👏 🥰... Without the determination of these 2 individuals along with the emergence thereafter of Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach & Emil Jellinek, we may still be relying on horses and steam power today 🤗 🤷‍♀️

Incredible... It amazing that some of the biggest things in the world begin from the least expectant individuals. However, the company wouldn't had marked such remarkable success, if not for the wife-Bertha benz. Thank God for a good and visionary wife like her. I pray for such woman like her.

7:34 It's interesting how the pendulum of life always swings to the point it eventually has to return to where it started. Today we face a similar revolution, with lots of doubt, but also lots of promise. EV's are essentially going through the same hardships that Benz latest tech at the time went through. Many people forget that chapter in history and have the worst things to say about advancements that will soon change the way we live. It's all a matter of time I guess...

The difference is that EVs are being forced upon us despite not being nearly as reliable, versatile, and efficient as combustion engines at the moment. It's being pushed simply because of politics, and that's why most people don't care for EVs. If they weren't being forced, then people wouldn't have such an issue with them.
@djbis
@djbis 11 ай бұрын
@@hhasslinger9601 I disagree. People in the US have this habit of looking at every single little situation through a political lens. And a very polarized lens at that. Those folks over 100 years ago also thought all of the same things you mentioned about Electric tech. They thought it was dangerous, inefficient, etc etc etc. They didn't want it. Why would they? Horses were working just fine! Petroleum is the heavy weight when it comes to the battle for support when it comes to Washington, DC. They have been putting dollars and buying politicians for ages. Electric threatens petroleum throne and all the money that they still want to make. But I digress. Just like Benz little engine that needed improvement (and was progressively improved until it became a force to be reckoned with), electrification is going through the same hardships. The difference is that we have the tools and know-how to evolve at an exponentially faster rate than we did a century ago. This is the positive difference I see with our current revolution. And I know not everyone can or wants to agree with this trend, but I really do believe that soon we'll have it figured out and it will prompt developments in more efficient electrification of everything, from homes and commercial buildings, to even possibly planes one day.

@@djbis Again, the main issue people are having with EVs are that they are being forced from the government(s) (many other countries as well as the U.S.) Someday the EVs might become much better and may even replace the combustion engine, but we're not there yet. This is what makes these EVs different from when the engine was created. EVs are being forced on companies and citizens by the government, specifically under the idea of being "economically friendly", which we have learned isn't true at all, and in fact they are worse for the environment in certain cases. The combustion engine never did this to increase its popularity. Instead it just became easier and more efficient to have one.
