Macha is voiced by Nicole Oliver, for anyone reading this (yes, the same Nicole Oliver who voiced Celestia in My Little Pony). Boreale was voiced by Scott McNeil, who is capable of some damn good acting (he voiced Sindri, and just listen to his delivery of his lines in this scene alone as evidence), but I feel for Boreale he was trying for a voice that was different to his other characters. Something else to keep in mind is the quality of the writing of the actual dialogue itself. Macha is competently written here as a true Eldar, speaking in metaphors like they do (fitting considering this game was many people's introduction to both 40K and the Eldar). Boreale's lines include stuff like the infamous "But we shall not die. No!".

See, this is why I like Macha. She's not like other DoW Farseers that view themselves superior to all others. She knows when her enemy poses a threat, particularly those of the Blood Ravens. Good thing her and Angelos fight Chaos together.

Not to mention she leads a warhost from Craftworld Biel-Tan; a Craftworld known for rabid speciesm, arrogance, distrust in psykers, and focusing on "cleansing" Maiden and Exodite worlds as opposed to vanquishing Chaos. It's possible the craftworld was chosen at random, given how Relic doesn't seem to give a damn about lore-consistency. It would have made more sense if they chose Il-Kaithe or Ulthwe (Craftworlds that focus against Chaos), and saved Biel-Tan for Dark Crusade or Soulstorm.

@@IvanezRus Biel-Tan are (usually) fascist space elves, Dark Eldar are space elf pirates/sadists/rapists/slavers/etc. IMO Biel-Tan should have been the Necron-hunting craftworld instead of Ulthwe, seeing as they'll kill xenos on sight away from Maiden or Exodite worlds if they are Necrons, Tyranids, and particularly Orks.

Instead of telling the Imps everything they need to know at the start and teaming up against the Orks and Chaos, Macha thinks she needs to do everything the hard way. Because, ya know, its just so damn convenient.

Possible reasons: 1: Farseer "The Ever-Virgin" Macha of Biel-Tan is an idiot 2: Relic wanted the player to fight _all_ the Dawn of War factions to showcase what they're capable of when played as properly. This was shown in Mission 5, but not as much in missions 6 & 7.

I feel like the story of this game is better fleshed out than in Space Marine. Maybe its cause the characters are given more personality and feel more three dimensional.

Imagine if this game's story didn't end on the final mission but rather began the Chaos campaign of equal length. Then the Orks. Then the Eldar. Imagine if all the expansions followed suit.

Winter Assault kind of tried that, with the Order campaign having both Eldar and IG, and Disorder both Orks and Chaos, but that was mixed into the same mission rather than a different campgin. IIRC the Warcraft games did a similiar approach to what you just described.

Man I remembered in one of my many playthroughs of this mission, I said fuck it and decided to go full on 'Imperial fist mode' and just fortify the hell out of the path the orks are coming from with a fuck ton of turrets and minefields. In return I decided to bring Brom and his lads with me to prove their worth and it was glorious!

Chaos has been around since before humanity advanced enough to discover fire. Basically there was a great war ages ago, the C'tan and their Necron warriors vs the Old Ones and their psychic warriors (one of which is known as the Eldar). The pain and suffering, along with other feelings began stirring up the Warp, forming the powers of Chaos. This gave rise to Khorne, Tzeentch, and Nurgle. Later, the Eldar themselves helped create Slaanesh, much to their grief.

Despite people disagree, I disagree and agree in a sense. Just like Buddha, if I'm right, he did not want to be worshipped, but the after he died he was starting to be worshipped. Same goes for the Humans in this, the emperor is being worshipped do to his high pysker ability. Humans are very greedy and can be corrupted easily, it's shown in our lives everyday. Humans won't directly rule the universe, only struggly to survive is all.

Able to lay waste to entire armies of Space Marines and easily being able to punch the armor may be true in the games, but in the fluff the Space Marines are a force not to be reckoned with and it is why the Eldar generally avoid them at all costs.

all this could be avoided if they just simply said "The chaos cultists are trying to summon a daemon. The daemon is in a little idol they're carrying around. If they succeed they release the daemon. We need to stop them and not break the idol"

The level that made me more familiar with the Eldar... suffice to say, it also started my disappointment for their insipidity and "holier than thou" bull. Great faction in DoW 1+2, however. A bit overpowered, but still, at least they're more "natural" than Soulstorm's Dark Eldar.

what are u talking about! eldar didnt create chaos. chaos has alwasy been there, if the eldar hadn't kept the necrons, and chaos at bay when humanity were still crawling on there bellies from the sea, humanity would never have lived past that point. the necrons would have destroyed all living things on earth and most planets. eldar also interfear in humanities foolish quests, but choose not to be revealed as helping them, of corse they are only helping them to save themselves in the future.
