This is the first time I've seen and heard the Struts other than their song Pretty Vicious and I must say they just got another fan. They are good! And I like how positive their outlook is, a lot of positive energy. Now I'll have to go to see one of their concerts.

@@ursusjyn They came to my town last April and was able to see them live. They DO NOT disappoint. There played to a sold out (albeit smaller venue) crowd on their feet dancing and singing the entire show. They are the real deal. I was super late to the party. A year ago I didn’t know who they were (although I do believe I had heard a song or two in passing). Strangely I discovered them quite by accident listening to clips on You Tube of the Howard Stern Show where you may get a piece of an interview or an acoustic version on Framption playing. Well, the lads did the Stern Show and I heard them consciously the first time doing Tumbling Dice. Spiller knocked Sir Mick out of the park and the band was tight as hell. Slack carried (as always) all the guitar parts and the back beat of Watts and Wyman was spot on. Like note for note. No fluff to out of place fills or bass lines. Just rock and roll the way it was made. This got me to search the band and a 52 song bundle came up and I spent the next 4 hours listening to the entire thing. Not a bad song on the playlist. And the covers (even a Spice Girls diddy, I shit you not, if you haven’t heard it? Check it out. But be warned, Adam Slack can play his ass off, but CAN NOT dance, lol). were efforts that did the songs justice. In fact they do a cover of Get Lucky that is better than Def Punk. Sorry Pherell. And Niles? No disrespect. They boys just killed it. Anyway, they are on my playlist and shuffle in frequently.

Its cool to see such a high quality version of this performance hanging around. I was at this very show and was my sixth time seeing tbe band live. This crowd however was sort of quieter of you will then the last few times i saw them at the Ace of Spades (i.e. Luke's comment of "Finally a song you know" before Put Your Money on Me). Still a great show and the band delivered per usual. Will definitely see th again next time they are around Sacramento or San Francisco. Thanks for sharing this performance!

The sound quality is so freaking high that the sound could easily pass off for being a live album. Couldn't find any other live recording of the Struts that would be this high quality and the entire gig as well. Big props for holding the iPhone for us for the entire gig! I'm sure you would've rather enjoyed jumping but this is golden.

I'm far from a dedicated fan to this band, but I absolutely appreciate the larger than life stage presence they carry regardless of crowd size. I saw them open up before a less than excited crowd at a Foo Fighters concert, and Luke still jumped around and interacted with the crowd like they were Queen at Live Aid. To be fair, at that point I believe The Struts only had their debut album out and did not play on a ton of rock radio in the south beyond alternative stations.

I saw them in concert in Royal Oak Michigan about a week and a half ago and they were AMAZING. Just an awesome performance in a small venue. Absolutely a great time and their opener - Barns Courtney - was amazing, too.

Have seen the band goin back almost 10 years. When you listen to what is out there these boys are on the top of the list. I hope they continue to rock because what they provide their fans is very special. It is the essence of rock and entertainment. Remember the name “THE STRUTS”

Obviously the audio has some post recording production and mixing. Many classic live albums were done this way. Allmans live aat the Filmore East and Frampton Comes Alive come to mind. But it doesnt matter how good a sound engineer is, you cant make something from nothing. What you are watching is a tight ass Rock and Roll Band with lights out talent and frontman who has a voice, range, and chops that puts him in the room with a select few "icons". Add to that they have song after song of pure gold. People are rediscovering an ignored genre of music and these guys are giving folks what this music was supposed to be. A deversion...a break if you will from the stress and anxiety of their lives to just enjoy a phenominal show. The world needs more of this.

Post production and mixing yes...but no overdubs or anything that wasn't going live.
@billyaultman858810 ай бұрын
I didn't mean to suggest there was anything added to sound that wasn't done live. I noticed the comments that made me think people were questioning if there was something blended or tracking added to the shows recording. I listened to it several times. What you hear is what they played. In fact its even more incredible that their a stripped-down three piece with a singer (who can f'n wail). I just discovered this band like two weeks ago and am shocked they have been around as long as they have. I've been on the stages with the bands they have and somehow been off my radar. I keep seeing comments on their internet posting saying similar things. Im wondering why this is? Who has been promoting them? I just hope they get their due. Headline tours. Stadium. Damn, Halftime at the Super Bowl....they really are that good!!

Their albums sound so tame and sanitized in comparison with this performace. They need a producer who will capturs this energy on the next release. Better still, they should release a live album.
