Thanks for the video Tim. A true inspiration to all of us who are compelled to get our hands dirty. I'm building a new woodworking/metal working shop next year. I can hardly wait to be working/creating in a shop with heat. Here in Ontario, Canada we get two seasons; Winter and July. Liked and subscribed and I'll work my way through the surface grinder build videos. Work safe.

Nice idea and construction. If it needs more weight, you could even pour the rubbery compound inside of it to give it more flywheel like weight. Thumbs Up!

Thanks for your video. I built a 2X72" belt sander a couple of years a go and it will really remove the metal. I wanted to have a wheel to do knives for a long time and after watching your video I ordered some of the stuff you used. I had a old wheel off a pallet jack that had the rubber worn off and recast it. Its horrible out of balance but I can fix that. Thanks to you I jumped in and did it.

Nice job. I make knives by hand at the moment. Bevels turn out ok but belt grinder would be nice. I work at a company producing the adhesive to bond urethane to steel for rollers like this, wheels etc.. if you have any problems over time consider giving the steel a mechanical key and applying a bonding agent 👍🏻
