My great grandfather bought a 1937 ford sedan Tudor brand new. In 38 He let my Grandfather and two of his friends drive it from St. Louis to Los Angeles and back. I can’t imagine the ride lol but this is on my dream car bucket list

Congrats Big D! I love some of the old 4 doors and fordors. You might look into the fast efi. It looks like a 4-barrel carb but gives you benefit of fuel injection. It’s not much more than a good Edelbrock or Holley carb.

Savage63 this is coming from someone who has a fast efi 2.0 system in their car. First the whole kit is around 1k. Second you need a high pressure fuel pump and regulator with return. Third is ignition box with compatible distributor. I don't think BigDwiz is wanting to go down that road.

You are very welcome! I'm also thinking about a possible Orion amp set up for the '37. Maybe Rockford Fosgate subs? Back in the mid 90's I had a 1996 Ford Probe GT with two Kicker competition 12's powered by a Phoenix Gold amp. I forget the wattage on the P-Gold. I also had two 6.5 Kenwoods in the front doors and two custom fit Kenwood 6X9 3-way speakers in the rear. The door and rear speakers were powered by two separate Kenwood amps respectively. (forget the wattage on those as well) At any rate it was a custom job and hit at competition levels and sound clarity, but I never entered. I miss that car and system. I'm a Rockford Fosgate guy these days even though Kicker rocks. Let us know what you go with.

I had that same CD player! Mounted it in the vent space in my 1987 Ford Escort GL above my Optimus Radio with the Optimus EQ that switched between the two...plus I had the RF Pioneer CD 6 disc changer. Way BITD. I remember a guy had a similar older car like yours and brought it to Hi-tech in Annapolis, MD to a car show and he had the front doors loaded with woofers.....but it had a passive radiator (mounted under the seat) that was activated when the door was closed. There was a passage that sealed the chamber (that was the door) to the chamber under the seat. Wildest thing I saw back then! Those old cars are like a wide open canvas! If you were closer...I could do your interior work. I used to do Auto Upholstery work for over 10 years. I do stuff on the side....but I'm in York, Pa. Don't know where you are. Nice ride!😎😇😀

This thing is like an 80’s time capsule! Seems like it was given a 50yr makeover then. I think it’s time for another one now 😬 I’m in NC, hoping to find someone close who can help with the interior. You are east coast, but PA is a hike from here. I’ve got a lot of decisions to make regarding other components, but I want the interior to look nice for sure. Think I’ll install buckets in the front and save the bench seat. I really want to install a 5spd, but not sure there is enough floor space for all of the petals 🤦‍♂️ That car you describe sounds cool!! Thanks for the comment 🤙

@@wal I remember my old deceased grandpa's panel truck/van that I had SO wanted to redeem from the sideyard of his Saginaw Michigan farmhouse. It became the doghouse for the dog they kept outside on a long dog run cable. I was young at the time...but I had no idea how badly rusted out the chassis and frame had been... I could picture it beong restored and throwing some nice equipment in there when I was a teen...but when married with lots of responsibilities...those dream are just that. It was an old plumbers truck. Tough times and though he lost quite a bit of the land and needed to work for someone instead of continuing on a business...some things don't change. He had to get money somehow. But I'll often have fond memories of that dark green old truck/panel wagon that I could see with either a very hidden sound quality system or an obnoxious heavy see through wall (subs on bottom and visibility up top) so that it maintains some safety. I'd hate to back that thing up into something I couldn't see. Although I guess there are the upgraded rearview camera options now days. One of the neat things we did with a 5 window truck (when I worked at G.S. Auto Upholstery in Millersville Md...was installing a remote control operated (optional) CD player behind a billet panel in the dash. We notched out one of the pieces to allow the CD to be ejected and inserted with the billet panel hiding it all. Although if one wanted...(the owner) one could fold down the panel and expose the radio for hands on action. We built some door speaker pods for him. I tried to talk him into doing the kick panels... But it was his truck and not mine. Overall though. Very fun to work on the old stuff...of course now...CDs are old and the jump drives are skip free.... I love your channel!

Now we're talking! Hot rods and muscle cars are another hobby of mine too. As far as the system to install? Just like your choice in rides, the only person you have to worry about pleasing is yourself. But, my personal preference is PPI.

Looks like a late 80s early 90s build. Solid foundation for what you want to do. Painless wiring kit, color sand and reclear. I'd switch to efi it's very affordable now and you can install the system yourself. Fitech is the system my brother installs and swears by them. My dad has a 32 ford coupe, he's had it for years.

What a cool car... It's almost irrelevant what you end up putting in it, but since you showed it here and it is my favorite old school amp; that PPI A1200 would look nice in there. Ported into the cabin seems like a decent way to go sub/box wise, since you already have the hole(s) in the rear deck. Thanks for starting her up too.

Belated Congrats, Big D! Very cool ride. Looks pretty nice once you gave her a bath. Looks like a great platform to start with. Would have loved to see you put it on the street and pop the gas for a second or two. Might make some HP with triple carbs! That Bass Pump is pretty interesting. Looks like it would be a nice little addition to a mom sedan.

Congrats on the dream car bud you deserve it! I think it would be fun to make your ICE install modular as far as the basic wiring and underdash brackets/mounting panels are concerned so you can easily swap out decks. Same for the amp racking in the trunk leave plenty of space to mount different types of amps. It won't look as nice but it will give you a chance to quickly and easily rotate out all the great gear you have collected and enjoy it in more real world conditions rather than just bench testing and fooling around with different equipment in the garage. Just my thoughts. I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be badass

Oh dear God I'm old !! I remember every piece of equipment in that car when they were new. 😢 You could have had Doug (soundman) pick it up and do the install, it may have taken 3yrs lol.... All the goodies you have in your museum, it would be tough to decide. Alpine HU, Orion HCCA amps, Kicker subs, and see if you can score some of their resolution components. That's my 2 cents. Again sweet ride and congratulations on getting your dream car. Btw try checking into swapping it to a more modern efi engine for reliability/driveability, good luck !!

"more modern efi engine for reliability/driveability" => Nothing is more reliable then a set of carbs, all those modern electronics will break down. I drive a 50 year old 2CV Van (AK400) , beside of the regular maintenance ,nothing has ever been done to the carb, it still factory original.

That bass pump setup is what I was thinking of doing in a 94 Taurus for space. A wheelchair is usually in the trunk ,so no room for a box. I have never seen anything like that. I remember Optimus radios though. Better than the Pioneer decks (single din) in my opinion. Pioneer I had lasted only a year before it quit. We still have a Radio Shack here but no auto sound products.

i have a dipole setup in my house of two pinnacle 8 inch magnet to magnet in a sealed box. that configuration bumps clean and undistorted until it falls apart at 800 watts.

Nice ride. Would be perfect for an PG Outlaw 1845. In Denmark the "HiFi Klubben" made an Outlaw theme car when the Outlaw and Bandit came out - think i was a 30ies two door Ford.

That car is awesome, and it fits ya well too. As far as old school audio....holy crap, where to start? Perhaps an old school pioneer premier head, or possibly Sony mobile ES? For old school speakers, gotta go with the butyl rubber surrounds, but ears are so subjective. The old Bostons had a classy look. If ya go with old school components, it would be worth re-capping the x-overs. With amps, looks will come into play..... Maybe a big old zapco slab for full range..... Boston? Pioneer premier? The old kickers do look mean tho. Old infinity subs are great for SQ, but I'm probably choir preaching there.... The venerable punch dvc.... Possibly old JL audio. 100 old school audio points if you do a video showing that putting a Gillette razor near an amp reduces output, and degrades sound quality..... Congrats on the car! Love the videos! Can't wait to see what ya cook up.
