Andy was so super talented famous and young. Its tragic that drugs and depression would take him away so soon. He couldnt handle fame. He will forever be remembered as young talented and beautiful. Rest in peace andy.

I had just got a job as a permanent employee for the State of California as a mail processor when I found out he died, I was very young and still had a residual childhood crush. I think I let out an audible gasp and started to cry, My boss let Me go home, all these years later it’s become a nostalgic, embarrassing and slightly funny memory….but I still know he and his music were definitely a huge part of childhood and always will be.

I did precisely the same thing in 2019 when Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner died. He’s my favorite actor and he was stunning. Loved him, still do. Loved Andy too, but he was very big a little before my time in the 70s.Andy died way to soon poor sweet soul. 😢

I love this showing of his live talent. Just as good as the studio recording. He was so beautiful. I was just a young girl when he passed. I was completely devastated when I heard the news. To be honest, I remember the days that Maurice and Robin died too. Such huge losses for this world. 💔

Those Gibb boys! - so much talent, good looks and unique sound. The world was blessed to have seen them ! And their story proves that things do not necessarily happen as you would expect. I never thought we would be without them all. Barry is a wonderful elder brother to sustain a career around the obvious grief. Bravo to him for not caving in to the world's tragedies. Yes he and Andy are twins - years apart.

@@joysynmonds9082 He was much younger than his Bee Gee brothers, but he sure did make great music himself or as a duet. Of that talented family, only Barry Gibb remains and he had connections to Dionne Warwick as well, such as writing the beautiful long ballad "Yours" for her and producing the "Heartbreaker" album with the other Bee Gees and getting Dionne her largest international hit ever, "Heartbreaker", that which she turned down until the third try of them convincing to record it and they sang the chorus. The Gibb brothers were a very talented musical family and Barry's demo of "Yours" surfaced on KZbin some time ago and he has that classic Bee Gee falsetto sound on it. Dionne and he could have made a duet, but she did fine as a soloist on that particular song.

He puts everything into this performances. Solid Gold was such a great show. Even decades later I am struck by the high standards of the musical arrangements, performances and visuals. It was a class act. I think though music during the 1980s was changing a lot, very country and rock dominated and there was less room for artists where traditional musical skills were held at a premium. Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston kept some of the classic musical traditions alive, but on the whole things were moving in a different direction.
