Hi everyone! I'm learning this trick now and I'm finding it not so easy to learn. Here are some tips that I got along the way: 1) After you learn the basic move (before 2:05), change it a little by completely releasing your index finger right before the handle hits your thumb. This should cause the knife to spin around your thumb and then fall. Don't try to catch the other handle yet! 2) After point 1 go ahead and try to catch the other handle. If you find that the knife just falls too quickly, try to repeat step 2 but while releasing the index, make sure that your thumb is near the top of the handle because it works as the pivot around which the knife rotates. Hope this helps

I'm really loving your tutorials. I'm not quite intermediate level yet. But I'm getting close and I'm starting to be able to string moves together thanks to you. You make learning how to flip easy and less scary. Due to stupid laws in my country it's not that easy and takes time to get a Bali but luckily I've got 2. An old jaguar which is incredibly heavy. And a kick-ass Titanium from exiled cutlery which is incredibly light. I honestly prefer using the jaguar even though my knuckles take a beating. Lol Anyway great job on your videos. Keep it up!

Really cool move. I like how the spin around the thumb, like an index roll on the thumb can lead to hold it closed with handle upward and follow to a y2k rollover. Had to succeed the spin alone first to master the full move.

I'm getting back into knife flipping, this one is the trick that I'm having the most trouble with! Definitely one that I've cut myself the most. My problem isn't exactly with technique, it's more about getting the timing right and remaining consistent, as the 2/10 times where I succeed it always feels out of luck.

I ran into that same problem too at first. I found that the trick is to: 1) try not to rush it at first and let the safe handle lazily roll over your thumb and 2) stretch your pinky finger a little further inward to get in between the safe handle and blade. And with that, you're gold.

Hey man, maybe you can answer my question, there's a trick in which you start like if you were doing a Y2K, so, you throw the handdle below your thumb (like y2k), and then when you catch the handdle you throw if horizontaly so it goes up while spinning, after that you have to hit the knife with the top of your wrist so it does a little "jump" and then you just catch the knife. I don't know if my explanation was decent or not, but maybe you know what i am talking about.

that trick is called the fist bump. they are pretty tricky. you should learn helix aerials first which i havent done a tutorial on yet. if you stick around ill get to it eventually but i have a lot of easier tricks to teach first! good luck!

@@unethical1894 is it just flying over your thumb, super fast and uncontrollable? what i learned is to release it a bit later than other roll overs, like actually let the knife wrap around your thumb then release, and i was able to get it, still wouldnt call it smooth by any means but i can do it now. oh also try and keep your hand still once it starts swinging around your thumb. that was really all i was doing wrong was treating it the same as the others.

@@3dp_edc ye ive noticed that i tend to move my hands i need to work on that this ones pretty frustating to me and im still trying to get it ill try to implement what you told me to do into what im doing right now also every time i do catch the safe handle the blade get there first so i catch it in the safe handle
@3dp_edc
@3dp_edc 2 жыл бұрын
@@unethical1894 yeah I know exactly what you mean I was doing that for a while too but just know your getting close if your atleast catching it. And when I say to keep your hand still I mean like literally for a split second just while it's flying around so it doesn't go flying around at a weird angle. Another thing I found helpful was not doing the twist at first just try and get the roll down then add the twist in the beginning

This is basically a reverse vertical zen rollover which I can do perfectly, but for some reason I can’t get this. I either drop the knife or end up in the closed position, I have no idea what I’m doing wrong.
