Great story! Your narration is really good! You give me a sense of home. I’m Cherokee and grew up in the country, middle of nowhere type country, and my old home was ripe with activity such as this. Myself and my family have some pretty wild stories. Where we lived was so isolated that the woodland beings were quite off their guard once they got to know us a little. They must’ve felt pretty safe deep in the forest where we lived, even with humans around. The large wildmen never gave us any trouble though, everything seemingly lived harmoniously together. However, friendliness varies from beast to beast or population to population, I’m sure. Our population was very calm & kind, I’m sure this is because they have always lived alongside my people in that forest.

This a great story told well. As a teenager in Missouri, I as well as a few of my friends had a close encounter with one of these big mean ones. We were at a low water bridge just killing time looking at the river. There was a dairy farm nearby and some of their cows hung out by the river and we could see some of them down river a ways. It was near sunset and as we were watching the cows something in the water near them caught our attention. First we thought it was a large cow or bull but then it stood up on its hind legs and was very tall. It was facing us and began running up the river toward us. It was moving fast and that scared us so we was getting out of there. The river level was fairly high and you could hear the water slushing with great force as the creature ran through it. This thing was huge and tall. We were panicked and trying to get traction in the loose gravel with our feet slipping and one guy had dropped a chain necklace on the bridge and went back to grab it. He said he heard it howl. I didn't hear it bur he swore it and was closer to it then us as we were already getting in the car. As soon as he got in, we tore out of there and I don't think any of us ever went back there again. It was a scary ordeal. It had dark fur and we couldn't make out too much as features, but it was running like a human on two legs. Some months later there was a report on the news of a similar creature sighted near a highway a few miles from where we were. Again, it was near a river.

We used to go to the Roubidoux (I think that's how it wad spelled) and I cab still visualize the area to fit with your story as I read your account. You should submit it via email, even though you posted it in comments. I'm guessing there was more and even if not it's a great encounter! Thanks for posting it!

@@donc9751 It's great you lived in Missouri, so you know the lay of the land. And yep, we have chiggers LOL. And lots of caves, I've seen a few. I'm about to turn 70 and have lived here all of my life so have seen some strange things and heard tails. One day me and a friend of mine was hunting and saw a black panther which are not supposed to be in Missouri. There was no doubt though as it was way too big to be a house cat. Bigger than a German Sheppard. No one believed us but we knew what we saw. There's not much more to the bigfoot creature story. It was huge and terrifying we didn't talk about it after that. There seems to be at least two different kinds, one your regular bigfoot and then these things that are very aggressive and mean. I'd heard of one up North I think Alaska somewhere that was spotted on the ground from a helicopter running as it was returning to pick up campers that was staying at a cabin. When they got there, they'd all been killed by that thing. Thanks for your kind words about my story, perhaps I'll write a book some day and include that story in it.

I started checking my property perimeters after the coyotes dug up my deceased dog. I've seen alot of tracks. I'm concerned about the bigger tracks I have seen. People want to believe it's a bear . Well I looked that up and eerily it's not the same tracks I have seen. One night when I was home in my garage when my dog was alive, something attacked my garage door. It was the craziest thing. Boom itd hit with such force I was stunned, my dog was acting strange and cowering never seen her act that way either. Boom itd hit again with such force it was backing the garage door off the hinges but a couple inches. I should of been terrified but it was to late for panic. I got down on my knees and banished it in the name of Jesus be gone and just poof it was gone. Now, I went through my home peeking through the windows and didn't see nothing. Couldn't sleep either. Got up the next morning, early and went outside to see the damage done and for the life of me there wasn't a dent of any kind on my garage door but there were tracks so, not sure if it was a demonic force or maybe one of them Bigfoot. It still creeps me out, I thank God and Jesus for their help with this. God bless you and take care. 🧡🙏🏼✝️🙏🏼💛🙏🏼❤

This story describes this being. Very deadly to all, including Normal Sasquatch. For they hunt all things, the size can be huge over 15 ft.. tall, upper and lower canines ( long) with pointed shark like teeth. The family group had been watching his brother for years it seems, and went to protect him from this deadly Genoskwa. This has happened in other tales in other places over time. Shooting them in the soft areas, like the face is about the only way to kill them. The Genoskwa is a subspecies of Sasquatch mentioned in Native American folklore It is reported as Sasquatch's larger, bulkier and more aggressive cousin. It is good they protected each other against this Genoskwa, and the fear and disdain for it is shown when the twin dug it up, then re buried it. These Genoskwa will take humans, hikers, etc. and may be some cause of the missing 411 campers / hikers / hunters. It is good to have them share this experience, for it shows of the dangers and the goodness of these beings.

So very well organized and presented. I followed it visually, listening to details which put me there in 1976. I thought of what was happening in my life in 1976 but quickly got completely lost in the story! Thank you so much. Jim

I’m greatly enjoying the footage of the bayou, the Mississippi River, the rain falling, the frog in the pond as well as the water lilies. Beautiful!

Great story Cam. The tone of your voice set the seriousness of the event many years ago and the dedication of the writer to protect his family and these shadowy creatures from those who would seek them out. Thank you Cam and to the man who sent this in. God bless you and your family, Your brother and the beings in the forest. 🙏❤

This was the first of the Dixie Cryptid stories I ever stumbled upon. I didn't know any better and assumed this was Cam's personal account. I also assumed Cam was a black man🤷🏼😅. This was the finest account ever written and absolute legend. Thanks for the journey and all the stories your readers have submitted. I'm truly soul hooked on this subject, and consider myself one of "your people" 💗

Great story! I can understand why people who experience these types of things keep quiet; many aren’t willing to accept anything outside of their perception of reality. Also, I liked the nice touch of the shadow figure moving in the background of the running water scene.

Dixie Cryptid- Have you noticed the whitish/gray blob in the upper left of your picture of the pond/river/swamp with the old wooden bridge at 12:39 in the video? The blob moves from left to right as you speak and you can pick it up again moving through the trees/bushes a little to the right of it’s first location. Since the same pictures appear on a loop you can see this occurrence several times during the video. It would be interesting to be able to slow down the picture video part of this video and blow up that portion to perhaps have a clearer view of that blob.

Thank you so much for this narration. I grew up on a farm and the descriptive surroundings took me back to my childhood. The twin that killed the beast reminded me of my Dad. Especially the part about keeping things to himself. Your narration of this wonderful and I enjoyed every word.

I have enjoyed all the stories you have shared on this channel but, none more than this one. Your deliberate cadence and southern drawl make it easy for my mind to paint the pictures your words describe. I detect this to be a true and authentic account of what happened that day in 1977.
