Why would we feel disappointed if a guy like David Zaslav doesn’t care about the fans not only of the NBA but of other stuff that is under WBD. It’s sucks but it’s justifiable after his stupid “We don’t need the NBA” comment said right after the merger was completed. And now WBD is further under the red because of this.

All 3 of the deals have global components. Amazon is a streaming power almost on par with Netflix. And then Disney and Comcast both distribute their streaming services in Asia, Europe, etc. The fact that WBD has so much debt and does not own a broadcast network is the reason they lost this package.

TNT would be smart to offer Ej, Kenny, Shaq and Chuck a time slot of 8pm - 12am on Thursdays where they just sit around and comment about games going on around the league. Like the Manning Cast for MNF. They can talk about basketball happenings throughout the week. I’m not tuning into Amazon to watch Draymond and other boring people. @chrisolivo65912 ай бұрын
I talk to so many people who cut the cord years ago and they are essentially paying now what they did for cable back then. Cutting the cord was cheap when you only needed Netflix. Now there is Apple+, Disney+, Max, Paramount+, Peacock, Amazon, etc as it all adds up. I will contend that the bundling cable package of 10-15 years ago is better than ala-carte cut the cord/streaming option today. Back then we got all our sports for free with cable on RSN’s, ABC, ESPN, TNT, NBC and CBS. Now if i’m a hockey fan, you have to buy ESPN+, if you want to watch some NBA and NFL games, you have to buy Amazon. If you want to watch some MLB games, you have to pay for Apple+. Did everyone think these companies were dumb and just let millions of people cut the cord and pay a cheaper rate? Nothing is for free in this world. You get exactly what you pay for

Pay the players $500G each game but it goes to their charity of choice and cover a players team his full year contract value if by freak chance he actually gets hurt bad enough to miss the rest of the season. I’m telling you TNT WILL Make a BILLION dollars every year. You could just about pay per view that series. This untrue statement that "the NBA is in decline" is so false when I hear it. The American media wants you to believe that because they use the NFL as a measuring stick for the American sports market just because American football dominates the locally, but they always neglect the international fans. Basketball and the NBA is 20x more popular than the NFL in the global market only behind soccer, with more potential internationally for growth instead of a saturated U.S market. Over here in Africa, then Europe, and Asia the NBA is massive and makes Billions more than the NFL due to popular demand For instance, in my country Nigeria plus around Africa the cable/network companies always carry the NBA on several channels because lots of people follow the NBA only behind soccer's English Premier League and La Liga, compared to the NFL that's on ESPN for few games here and there's non-existent interest in American football over here. TNT has been the best sports partner of any professional sports league in history. And you say tea and it’s all about streaming. Why the hell does ESPN have the rights to the NBA? Compared to TNT their coverage is absolutely putrid. Not only because of Ernie, Kenny, Charles and Shaq, but their play-by-play announcers are far superior. Mike Breen is highly overrated. Kevin Harlan is the best in the business. And Brian Anderson does a good job as well. I think long-term leaving the NBA on ESPN is a mistake. ESPN is cable and streaming just like TNT.
