Don't simply retire from something; have something to retire to. Start saving, keep saving, and stick to investments. Building wealth involves establishing routines, like consistently setting aside funds at regular intervals for smart investments.

It's really heartbreaking to see how inflation and recession impact low-income families. The cost of living keeps rising, and many struggle just to meet basic needs, let alone save or invest. It's a reminder of the importance of finding ways to create financial opportunities. You've helped me a lot sir Jihan Wu! Imagine i invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days

Real estate investment is work. Influencers in the field often give the impression that investing is easy and passive. Thank you both for shining a light on financial freedom in real estate investment.

I think the truth is that 99.9% of people will work a job until they die the sooner i accepted that it lifted some weight off my shoulders. "Financial freedom" means to me always trying to grow my own nest egg for later and having a 6-12 month emergency fund so that if i needed to quit my job I would be financially stable enough to do so and then find a new job. I never again want to be so broke that I HAVE to put up with an abusive boss or abusive co workers to get the paycheck, now ill just quit and find a better job
@MAD-DUKE10 күн бұрын
I think working a job til you die is admirable and I think this is the reality if what we all want to do, after you strip everything down, I believe all humans want to be productive til they die. What I am looking for is to dictate how I am productive. What Henry has is my dream. Being able to not produce an income and still survive would just be gravy/icing.
@daniellehamilton380910 күн бұрын
Yes, working SOME sort of job is probably in the cards for most ppl. But it can also be a lower stress job, doing something you love, or whatever interests you. Having a good start of an emergency fund and investments allows you to choose what you do! It’s that FU kind of money that lets you walk away from a crappy situation. In the FIRE community, that’s called Barista FIRE, where you have some savings and just need a lil extra. Some ppl literally work at coffee shops (Sbux) and get healthcare that way while being mostly retired. My mom retired as a teacher and later went to work at a bookstore for extra fun money. Her pension covered what she needed, and the extra money was for restaurants, trips, etc. and she got discounts on books!
@TechOutAdam10 күн бұрын
It's because all the gurus and Kiyosaki's of the world brainwash and gaslight people into thinking a job is a bad thing. It's all about income. It all takes work. There's engineers who make $500,000 a year and there's "investors" that earn only $65,000 a year but hey, at least they don't have a "job" lol Look at Chris Gardner, he was fighting for a job, not a side hustle or some weird networking marketing company, it was a prestigious job as a Stock Broker. So many people forget that.

Henry, dont rely on someone selling a house in order to keep your business moving forward. You can always find lots to build on and they are easier to get a deal on than an existing home. New construction is the way to go, just have to self-gc to get them at a discount. Seems scary but its really not that bad once you learn the basics then just fill in knowledge gaps as you go. Dont find the deal, build the deal!

With appreciation slowing down and interest rates so high it’s much less appealing to take this huge risk to cashflow a couple hundred dollars per month. Clipping coupons and not ordering designer coffee gives me more cashflow and no risk. Aside from the tax upside, RE should be part of an overall planning strategy but not the only egg in the basket.

I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio of $450k dwindle away is such an eye -sore.

There are tons of cool stocks in different industries to watch. You don't have to act on every forecast. I suggest teaming up with a financial advisor who can help you pick the right times to buy and sell the stocks or ETFs you're eyeing. They can give you some solid advice to make smart moves.

I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications.
