Not greeting you has nothing to do with your race. I’m white and I noticed the same thing. It’s also the same in Australia. It’s in our South African culture to greet, but not the same overseas.

I never really thought about it as a race thing, it’s someone else who told me it is, but you’re right. It’s not a thing abroad which is weird especially if you need to speak to the person.

I don't mind being greeted or not, in fact I like it when people keep to themselves, I don't want to go around with this burden of greeting people. Some people will give you attitude whether you greet them or not. I will also not greet you if you expect to be greeted all the time but won't make the first move. I will just pass you by. No-one is God.
