I'm running into some confusion & can't find the answer anywhere. I need to record videos in OBS with separate audio tracks for editing purposes. I can add audio outputs in OBS and add each individual wave link input (like Wave Link Music, etc.) but for some reason this means I can't use the wave link software to mix my audio for obs. If I turn something down or up in wave link, the OBS track is not affected. Does this mean the only way you can change your OBS audio using wave link is by using the stream output audio?

Ok, as a streamer of 4 years that has a wave 1, but I have struggled so much both understanding but more importantly having many teething problems, and problems using the wavelink software. Crackling audio, constantly having to reboot wavelink, or obs, or both, a nightmare tbh. Let me just say, and believe me I’ve watched so many videos,I have fell lucky, I’m about to instal the new update, both as it’s bothering me to do so, but now I’m at a point we’re i think I need a fresh set up because of my problems, and I stumble upon your video as the very first one. So let me just say, this video is truly outstanding, take it from someone who,HasI struggled so much on my stream Last nights stream was a prime example, (Same name if you want to go check what my problems were,twitch,and when I start gaming) So wish me luck as I’m going to follow this from start to finish. So I'm new to elgato, just got my mic tonight. I like the quality so far, and this video has helped me a ton. I have ran into an issue though, whenever swapping my focus from a browser to the game I'm playing, there is a noticeable "audio channel change" and it makes all audio currently coming to my headset echoy and a little bit louder. Also did some testing in discord, the mic is coming through extremely choppy, but when I listen to it via Wave Link, it sounds perfectly fine..

all these wavexlr tutorials here work perfectly on MAC!! thanks for this man..Question, doesn't the 'limiter' do the same as the built in 'clip-guard'??
@MurrayFrost
@MurrayFrost 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the clip guard was a new addition so technically you dont need the limiter but it doesn't hurt.
@hareblix
@hareblix Жыл бұрын
The limiter is also useful if you want to keep audio below a certain db. The clipguard prevents clipping (as the name implies), but limiter prevents the signal from going over the set db. So, if you need your mic to absolutely stay below, say, -5db then the limiter will do this. Clipguard just prevents loss of quality.

Whenever I play a new game the default channel is my headphones plugged into my mic, so I can hear it through my headphones but it doesn't play to my stream mix. Every game has its own dropdown in the App and Volume section so do I need to make a game channel and change every game I play to route to that channel? Or is game sound supposed to come through the system channel? My system channel doesn't seem to be doing anything. In Apps and Volume settings the input and output of system sounds can't be changed from default which is headphones plugged into mic as output and Mic In (Elgato Wave:1) as Input

I just took a further look, and see that for example with TDR Nova you can create a ZIP file, which saves your presets. Then, once you start your PC the next day, you can simple go to the cog-wheel at the top right -> local data -> import ZIP. This should work every time, we just need to make a habit out of doing so. The same goes for the T-de-esser, as well as Frontier (this one only has a 'save' button, so let's hope this is enough). For Renegate, the most important in my opinion, I see none of these options. However for now this covers almost all options, so I hope you can find some use in this. -Junyao

Hello! I noticed that when I booted up Renegate my gain map on the left side looks different from yours. Yours shoots straight down from -30 but mine is -50 to -50 and then north to -30. Would you be able to explain what this is and if I should have it going straight south like it is on your gain map? Ty!

Do I have to have my headsets always plugged into the wave 3 or can I just use my Dac amp? I really want to use my dac amp for game audio and wave 3 for obviously mic audio. I’m not a fan of mic monitoring or hearing my voice while gaming.

Yes, you can choose your dac as your output in the wave link software

is this a good alternative compared to voicemeeter? i have an elgato wave 3, but i already been using voicemeeter before buying it so now basically wavelink is just sitting there for the mic, but my desktop and everything goes through voicemeeter, not sure if it will be a good option to swap to wavelink completely or stay with voicemeeter.

So I add “game” input. Am I manually going to have to go into windows sound settings and specify which game is supposed to route through?

With setting up music with the wave link, and live streaming, would this then potentially hurt in regards of possible copy right strikes in the videos? does this stop music from playing in the videos? Or should i keep my setup with a vb-audio virtual cable in obs to prevent music being played in videos?

I use the music function in Wavelink, but I make sure to mute that channel from my VoD version. That way, I can stream with music, and my VoD does not have music, which is where the copyright gets you

@@cbentivegna60 I do this already with Streamlabs. Does WaveLink have this feature as well? To mute specific Channels? I literally have so much audio channels in my mixer separated so I’m hoping I can do the same on the Software.

@@TheKolorlessKingz So I have music come through Wave Link - Music. Then in OBS I use advanced audio settings so that specific channel is muted in the VoD. To listen to it, I just use the monitoring features in Wave Link, and it monitors to my Steelseries - Game channel

Following along with the video and I don't see the Audio Effects/VST Plugins feature displayed in the video. I'm using the most up-to-date version of Wave Link.

Are you required to set up programs in wave link so you can hear them? Or can I just use it like a normal audio interface. I just want all windows sound and my microphone to be picked up in recordings, and play in my headphones. I don't wanna have to bother messing with the software much.
@MurrayFrost
@MurrayFrost 2 жыл бұрын
Whatever application you do not setup will automatically go through the system channel so if you want, you can just setup the mic and system channel and only have two channels.
