A few days ago I had a Tier X game in my AMX 30 B (I know not the best anymore but it's still my favourite medium) where all my shots penned. Got no kills but did over 8k damage and the Confederate award. The in the next game I could not pen a Skorpion G. 4 shots in a row that just bounced. 2 direct hits on the side of a SU-130PM that did nothing. 1 direct shot on GW Tiger that just disappeared. I lost the game and did 0 dmg. And then for 2 hours straight I did not have a single victory. None of the games were even close. In 2 of them I was killed without ever seeing a single enemy tank. I really miss the good old days. Also, this isn't a role playing game. If the ammo had 320 pen then it should be 320 pen.

From a mechanics perspective, RNG is the biggest factor (I include in RNG: Penetration RNG, Damage RNG, and Sigma which can be thought of as RNG on Accuracy). That being said, I remain convinced the biggest factor (non-mechanic, meaning controllable by the player) is map awareness.

As bad as rng is in WOT it is so much worse in warships to the point of being unplayable. That game is a ridiculous dice roll.

The single biggest factor of the game is RNG, the second biggest factor is Match Making, those two elements account for 95% of match outcome period, not map awareness. When you are playing in a tier 8 and are forced to play where two thirds of your opponents are tier 9 and 10 with the power to one shot you over and over, map awareness is not going to help you one bit. Big spenders are rewarded by free to play players cannon fodders, the game is a fraud, good god man, there are enough videos of this kind of bullshit about war gaming.

Yeah obviously matchmaking and RNG is important, but I'm a measurably better player on the maps I know best and that are best suited to the tanks I like. Is that just a happy coincidence? Am I getting more favorable matchmaking and RNG that just happens to coincide with those maps? No, of course not; to whatever extent I have any skill in this game (debatable), that's where it's showing up

It's all RNG. One game I can hit everything, pen everything, and bounce shots. The next miss most, don't pen the shots that do hit, and bounce nothing. It's not random. I'm convinced it's either set high to win, or low to lose to average out the players wins/losses. These numerous 15-2 and 2-15 games are not just good/bad players, it's WG deciding who's turn it is to win.

7:38 That shot penned because he loaded premium ammo; his first attempt was at the same angle but with regular ammo. Also SU-130 PM HEAT ammo has 320 penn, T-95 lower part of front armor is 305 mm, the sloping lower part is around 250 mm. So not a big mystery after all.

The biggest factor that inflences the outcome of a game, for me, is the number of muppets that the game MM decides to put on your team and not on the other team. This explains a lot why there are so many crushing defeats like 0-15 or 2-15 (and so on). Even the gratest player in the world, like Klaus here, cannot win with a muppet team.

I played my SuperConq last night. Picked up some pointers. Yes the variation in the effectivity of shots is frustrating. I count on my important shots not working, keeping cover nearby, unless I have a Russian tank of course. heh Thanks Claus!

Factors to win: Limiting health loss at the beginning, choosing a good firing location, complete aiming of the target and anticipating the area of battle needing help are help.

Very good video ! RNG is quite a steep percentage ratio and it would be nice . Except this would happen , by bringing the RNG it to a lesser number it would do this…widen the good/bad player gap . Good players would become even stronger and to maintain a lesser skilled player . By that logic it makes sense to have this in place for that factor . Very skilled are better at snap shots for example na d quicker reaction to begin their aim and Rng is a tool that slightly balances that advantage . Make sense ?

Hey Claus....A content provider who says it like it is, unlike others who make excuses and never admit how much WOT program decides the outcome. You can see it as it happens, you know if you will be on the winning team and the RNG decides what your shots will do no matter how well you aim your shot. It's not a matter of raging, it's just so discouraging. When you have 5 or 6 games of 15-2. or 2-15 it is very obvious. Stay honest with comments and game strategy, have really enjoyed the videos of late. Regardless of the tiers and you mix those up too. It's nice to hear and know it's not just my imagination. And I truly believe and see that the Standard account players get the chitty end of the stick......They will never get my Credit card # for just that reason...sleazy greed I call it.

i dont think that spending has anything to do with the crap treatment as i have a few accts over the 8 years i been playing and my 100% free never spent a cent on have poorer crews and very little bond or bounty stuff yet there both +53% win avg accts and the 1 i do spend some on has 49.55% wins yes it has 20 times more games played (just spending ) dont help that much get bad game with mostly bad rng and red teams getting great just today played a game i shot 12 times hit 9 out of 12 zero (0) damage yet 10 out of 10 shots hit me all pined

Solo out come = RNG Game out come = RNG and Team Playability out come = crew, upgrades, modules, directives, food ect. Overall out come = Helldivers 2 is a good game! So is Diablo 2 Reserected!

A player's stats is a key factor affecting a battle. While that seems obvious (yes, a unicom will beat a muppet more often than not), the game parameters give advantages (through RNG) to good players over average players (better accuracy, higher pen, more bounced hits, etc..) like a self fulfilling prophecy. This is why teams spruce up player stats by platooning with much better players. Eventually, the average player becomes a good player from an artificial high win rate, which then leads to better RNG outcomes. Why do I believe this preposterous idea? Because I have a couple tanks with high win rates and high MOE and battles in these tend to favor me over others. I pen more often, I pixel damage "lucky shots", and shots against me bounce more often than not. I am a better player because RNG decided that my higher stats warrant little pluses. An example? When shooting at a unicom or near unicom with an average stats tank, the chance of bouncing their tank is high while their chance of doing serious dmg to yours is also high. When it happens, you think "of course, he's unicom and I'm just an average player". Remember, like Claus says, RNG has a significant impact on game play.

Actually, there is some truth in this, I play three games, if I lose 2 I stop playing. If not I carry on until losses are greater than wins.

I believe that the ranges are randomly set for some rng operations at the start of each game. Eg you can have a whole game of inaccurate shots because the dispersion is set within higher limits only for that game.

Biggest factor influencing the game is matchmaking and sigma. People actually play the game, but WG decide a lot of what happens by giving nice MM and sigma to people who spend a lot and/or have Russian ip addresses...

The biggest factors that influence the outcome of the game are: being part of the least incompetent team, having a player on your team that can carry, that has situational awareness and is capable of reading the game, having players on your team that can shoot straight, having players on your team that know when to advance and know when to retreat. Having a player that is capable of surviving the battle in a light tank is often a game winner.

Outcome of the game? Premium account, that WoT extra stuff to pay for, playing a premium Russian tank really helps - or just playing a Russian tank. Oh being a WoT contributor also helps... This question really is, why isn't the game a level a more playing field - give or take say 25% each side? Put simply, its run by accountants who have the final say. I've been playing for over 10 years and remember the 'accountants' taking over it's been painful ever since - want to experience it - pay premium for a month and watch your wins/kill improve which you may say is obvious - then don't play premium, unless you have God mode you will lose games and credits time and time again. Yes the game is rigged but rigged purely for making money at the expense of your enjoyment of the game.

The only random thing that isn't programmed....number of muppets. I'm an average player, but I drink when I play, so you get random me sometimes. My favorite random thing to do is load up my IS-7 and which I've had for a long time. The crew is one of my original Russian crews from when I joined in 2013. And I play as a medium with my purple gear. It infuriates the stat boys. Other than that, I play tire 5,6,7....because I love to get crapped on by the power creeped tanks I run bump the dmg blocked score of clown shoe D Bags. But I keep playing

I do not WOT but in WOWS It the MM and Bot Play MM = Match Maker it does not balance the teams . At teir 1 you can have player with a 21 skill captain playing agaist a 1 skill captain , Full upgrade ship playing against a no upgrades ships

Biggest factor is there is a hidden master “random” number generator that guides all the others affecting Sigma, pen, damage, fire chance, and probably even who your teammates are in the matchmaker… and it is applied across the team. It’s the number one reason why I quit the game and wear tin foil hats now.

For wins and losses , adjusted over time, it's skill. But that 'over time' is doing a lot of work. Once you've been playing long enough to get out of the battlebot kiddie pool, everyone is facing the same set of rules as you are, there will be constant injustices and constant freebies because of random chance, but they do even out. The single biggest factor for performance on an individual level in an individual game is 1) knowledge of the map, especially with regards to where your opponents can be covered or concealed and where you can likewise be covered or concealed. Map knowledge is HUGE, it's the difference between 40% and 50% all by itself 2)knowledge of and ability to use game mechanics like aiming and angling, understanding your own machine, and the opposing machines as far as armour and weak spots go. This is an incremental skill, especially as there are so damned many tanks to keep track of, and because it also depends on manual dexterity and quick reflexes. It is what gets you to 60%. Past this? Strategy, ability to influence teammates, platooning, understanding what your team is likely to do, what the enemy is likely to do, knowing the right moment to start trading HP. that gets you to Unicum. Most people get halfway through 1, and a quarter the way through 2, and stop actually progressing. That s because getting further means entering the sweaty zone, and most people don't enjoy that. They remain happy shitters (and good for them) or they find a new game (and good for them), or most commonly they blame everyone else from wargaming to their teammates to mythical cheating AI programs for the fact that they aren't willing to either work hard at the game or quit. They seem to think they 'deserve to win' presumably based on either buying tanks and gold like a whale, or because they are inherently superior. This is why do many racist slurs are thrown around in the game. After a certain kind of player loses, he must somehow display his superiority after getting viciously moonstruck on the field, and calling someone a wetback or a ni22er seems to make such maggots feel better. Notice I don'r even consider RNG? its because its the same for everyone. If you don't think so? well allow me to suggest you go and research how people get sucked into paranoid conspiracy theories and cults. Same mechanisms there.

Some good points there, but RNG has a huge influence. Many, many times my team has been steam rolled, & strangely my shots have lots of misses or bounces, the game just feels 'wrong'. Team mate I platoon with feels the same after the same game. Other times our shots just hit & hit, & enemies bounce. We steam roll enemy team. RNG coincidence? - Possibly, but it happens a lot of times, & I don't doubt it's a tool WG could use to influence win rates. Games are getting shorter, what easier way to nerf one teams RNG? It admits (or admitted) it influences teams of seal clubbers at lower tiers (by MM, not RNG to be fair), so why not just use another tool, especially if it can make them money? Having bots get around 44% win rate shows something is going on.

P.S The other thing about RNG is why bother having it at all unless you want to control games? Why do tanks bounce/not pen light skinned tanks if it isn't to give players a chance to stay in the game longer, or control outcomes? AEG have a video where they both bounce a Hellcat twice in a row from close range. For me, an unlikely coincidence. 5th & 6th shots pen. It would be more realistic to just have a single set of stats relating to gun pen values, not RNG.
