Love from an Edmonton native!, you shouldve tried out the roller coaster :). The movie theater used to have a fire breathing dragon, too bad its gone with time. Much history with the mall, it has changed so much.

Love the mall. I wouldn't spend much time at any other shopping mall, but WEM is obviously more than that. If you ever spend a Winter on the Canadian Prairies, it takes on another dimension entirely. I mean, having a beach in _Summer_ is one thing, but imagine when it's -20! Tons of tourists from all over Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northern BC and the Territories. Literally hundreds of thousands of people vacation in Edmonton in *_Winter!_*

Glad you enjoyed it. :) Kinda cool that mall has multiple world records. Some include that roller coaster as the biggest triple loop roller coaster in the world. Biggest parking lot as well. And both Galaxyland as well the water park are the biggest in the world. I was shocked to learn that. But hey I can see why now. xD

Parking is free. They have a parking lot. But yea... I didn't see any transportation services. So... I guess if you left something in the car forget it... lol

If you go by bus you can go there without dealing with parking. You can park for free just fair warning it is so crowded.

It is only a three hour long drive from Calgary but I have not been to West Edmonton Mall for over 20 years. I did ride that roller coaster and also the merry go round swing. It looks a bit better now than before. More stuff.

Calgary Alberta has a newer Mall called Cross Iron Mills which is nice looking without the theme parks. I just go to it otherwise I might have went to Edmonton. Hey, just a correction, Its the largest mall in Canada, not North America. The largest mall in North America is Mall of America, Soon to be American Dream. I went there 6 years ago and it was lots of fun! Im going again like like 5 days so I'm so excited! I Recommend going to the Waterpark or Galaxyland next time. Its pretty cool.

in 1986 there was a terrible accident that took place on the mindbender (which is the giant rollercoaster you were so surprised about) that took the lives of 3 people. 1 of which died the day after his birthday so I'm guessing his friends took him to the mall as a birthday gift. 😩 but he was sadly given the gift of death. Super sad.
