My heart broke just a little more when I saw HMV on the directory map. It's now gone and it hurts my heart especially because when my friends and I would meet up at West Ed, seeing as we all live in Edmonton or surrounding areas, we'd meet up outside the HMV and if a couple people were early we'd hang out inside and look at all the movies and stuff. I also miss the old fire breathing dragon in the Scotiabank theater. Also, I went on the old blue slide that you mentioned doesn't go anywhere anymore when I was a kid and holy crap, so much has changed.

Wow, this mall looks incredible. I thought Mall of America was big, until I saw this video. I love how Galaxyland has that huge play structure, and I wish I was a young kid again just to go inside and play there. The waterpark would be my favorite attraction there, but my only complaint is that most if not all the slides there are body slides. I think they need more tube rides. Perhaps they could build 2 or 3 on the back side of the park if they have enough room (and maybe a matt racing slide on the side of the park opposite of the flow rider). And the flow rider is a extra cost attraction? That shocked me because every waterpark I've been to that has one of these didn't cost any extra charge at all.
@Ashicakez35 жыл бұрын
Mitchell Ries That abandoned purple slide on the other side of the waterpark used to be a tube slide, same with that big green one. I haven't been to the waterpark in 6 years. I have no idea why they changed the slides because they were so fun.

I love west Edmonton mall I went to the black light mini golf and mirrors maze it was fun. Galaxyland not my cup of tea but I do enjoy walking though it to cut past the crowds in the mall. I used to go to the water park every year with my school as a year end field trip. I stayed at the hotel in the western themed room once on New Year’s Eve and saw the indoor fireworks at the water park I love seeing the penguins at sea life but I do miss the dolphins.

@maeganbyerley6 жыл бұрын
Just some facts 1) The ship is a replica of the Santa Maria 2) The reason why the amusement park is called Galaxyland is because back in the 90s Disney blew a fit when they found out that W.E.M called their amusement park Fantasyland LONG before Disney even came up with the idea. 3) The mindbender roller coaster has shoulder restraints due to a fatal accident that happened back in the 80's on the final loop. My sister in law was there when it happened. 4) Swing of the century is one of the rides that was left behind from it's Fantasyland days which is why it looks out of place. There are a few other rides that were kept as well 5) The double window tanks looking into the lagoon I do believe was part of the old submarine ride as well that went of of service a long time ago 6) Before the sea lions they had dolphins. Also there were bird cages near Sea Lion's rock, Flamingos & a few other types of birds were in them. 7) The mall was built in phases over time.

the sea life cavern is actually really sad to visit, the tanks are all super small and they make them look bigger by having glass look out into the indoor lake, but i dont think they've let anything live in there since the dolphins died... the poor sharks just kinda hang out by the water filters, normally they have to keep moving so they dont die, and looking at them alwyas makes me feel like im looking at a fish in an iron lung. I'ts good that they have info for people though, especially the African penguins the attendants have always been really knowledgeable about the animals and different ways/charities that can help support them.
