early game as a small country estate statutory rights isnt that bad. You get your crownland back and can remove it in a couple of years.

Those videos are always a bit tricky since it's generally a rule of thumb and not something you follow strictly. For example mil tech you usually take ahead of time much sooner if you are in a difficult war where it could make the difference. There are also some specific admin or diplo techs that either unlock more gov cap or buildings that I wanna have asap. Obviously you still have to assess what's a reasonable mana cost for that

While I do agree i still think 90% of the time you should wait for tech but I do say in the video if your in a hard war you should take mil tech but i think most of the time it's better to save the mana especially so you can fill ideas and dev

@PaulPreacher oh yea most of the time it is the smart play. I was just saying there are some exceptions and depending on the specific situation you maybe will want to take it early. For example just yesterday I spend like 600 admin points to take the admin tech early because my entire expansion was hindered by my lack of gov cap. If you take a tech early or not is usually something you decide in the moment. Most things in Eu4 are tbh so every advice usually boils down to "you do it that way until you don't" Just wanted to clarify that for the commenter since another huge mistake beginners make is to apply every advice to every nation and situation without thinking for themselves if it's actually smart to do

Estate statutory rights is great if you're opm or own only few counties since then the privilege does almost nothing.
